They have 12 recruits and 6 of them are highly rated according to 247. Why shouldn't we be nervous?

There are a number of reasons not to be worried.. but the biggest reason is because it's still early in the recruiting process. These are just verbal commits and many of the commits will flip their decision before signing day. It happens every year at every school. Just because a school has 12 verbal commits, does not mean those 12 will be signing with them.

Another reason not to worry is of their 12, we only showed interest in 3 of them...

First. Wrong section (these are football commits, not basketball).
Second. Just under seven months until signing day. And 5 of those highly rated guys have only one offer, and one is claiming offers from Georgia, Auburn, UNC, and NC State. Really?
Third. We will come our of the next couple of weeks with commits. We have a lot of guys coming for visits, several for their 2nd, 3rd, and more.
Fourth. Their organized twitter squad is already posting about commits flipping and that it means riding the pine at P5's over playing for them. Why do that if they aren't worried about some flipping.

Copy that list and see exactly how many are still there come signing day. Do it for Tx St also as they have nearly as many right now. And as in past years, when you have high 3 star guys from states like AL and MS with only one offer (Ga Sou) that speaks loudly. Remember last year, the JUCO RB that was supposed to be the second coming for them. Flunked out before summer school was over.

Sorry but we go through this every year. Just for the record App has less decoms and flips in the past three years than most Belt schools have in one (minus a few of the bottom teams who usually don't fill up until the last couple of weeks). SEVEN MONTHS. Long time.

If they have 12 commits on their basketball team then how many scholarships do they have to give? I don't believe that.

Kind of irrelevant, but keep in mind is GS has another decent year. Fritz will be gone to the next school. He was already a candidate at Kansas last year....hope recruits know that.

Haha Satt will be gone to if a pretty good P5 offer comes along, part of the territory of playing at our level

They've have 6-7 commits during the last 2-3 weeks, which is an NCAA dead period where direct contact between coaches and recruits isn't allowed, although electronic communication is allowed.

Just imagine how you were as a 17-year-old and tell me that those players will stick to their commits once they start getting love letters from scores of coaches.

There is one *outstanding* reason that this GaSouth news is completely inconsequential. The only date that counts is February 3, 2016. Go get you an ice-cold brew or two or three and relax. I highly recommend St. Pauli Girl on hot, humid days like this!

In other news, the UAB athletic program has not yet died.

In my opinion, if they seriously committed to 'The Stink' after they actually visited Statesboro, GA and maybe experienced the "GSU Inbred Nation"...We don't want them in Boone anyway.

Unless it's the day after national signing day, I'm not the least bit concerned about how many recruits GaSo thinks they have. In the meantime, I'll be supporting our coaches in their tireless efforts to find players who fit the App system, want to work hard enough to earn a championship, and can handle actual university level classes.
