Re: 11 DAYS!!
I am sure this question has probably been asked before, but do other college football teams allow two players (one on offense, one on defense) to wear the same number? I don't remember seeing another team do this, but maybe I just haven't been paying attention.

Re: 11 DAYS!!
Pretty common, for FBS especially. I looked at Alabama's roster, and they have an offense/defense for the following numbers:Appsolutely wrote:I am sure this question has probably been asked before, but do other college football teams allow two players (one on offense, one on defense) to wear the same number? I'm in your club, Chris, but not to worry. While the bean counters are are doing their jersey tallies, we're watching the game!Appsolutely wrote:No surprise there!hapapp wrote:It's the latter.Appsolutely wrote:I am sure this question has probably been asked before, but do other college football teams allow two players (one on offense, one on defense) to wear the same number? Re: 11 DAYS!!
Yes, that topic has been beat to death in the "should we retire jerseys" conversations over the past couple of years. Pretty much all programs do it, but it's not too noticeable since they rarely issue the same number to two starters. One of the players is usually lower on the depth chart, although I do remember seeing a number making a special teams tackle and wondering why our RB was covering kicks. LOL I'm slow, so sometimes it takes it a minute to click.
