We opened as an 8.5 point favorite in Vegas.

For a conference game against 2 teams that you would think would be competitive that's a big lead for a team playing on the road. Typically a home team is given 3 points.

The line has now drifted up to 11.

So it seems like the wise-guys think we are going to win big but what does Vegas know about G5 football.

I know people are saying this is the best team we've played outside of Clemson. I think it remains to be seen whether ULM is better than ODU, or at least markedly better. ODU has an FBS win, ULM doesn't. ODU isn't very good, but they haven't looked as bad as we made them look in any of their other games.

Vegas thought the public would beat 50/50 on an 8 point spread, then the early money that comes from sharps was heavy App skewing the spread higher. Public money may drag it back down to 10 or so. Happened last week, opened at 16 rose to 18 then dropped to 15.

In other words, I wouldn't expect another 49-0 score come Saturday. These fellas have been around a little longer than ODU. :)

Oh I agree with that. But I wouldn't expect another 49-0 score if we played ODU again either.

If ULM played ODU this weekend, I'd say ULM would win by at least 10. In my opinion they're that much better, if not more, than ODU. With that said, I do predict an App victory this weekend. However, ULM will be more scrappy than the team from Norfolk, guess we'll see Saturday. Note: Score predictiion will follow later in the week.

What type of offense do they run? DO they run first or have more of a spread/air it out type approach?

Clearly their defense cannot stop the option (GaSouthern), or running offenses with NFL-lite o-lines (Georgia, 'Bama), but I'm not entirely sure what that means for App State. I suspect we will be able to establish the offensive line, but to an earlier point, unless we're just blasting them off the line, the off right tackle is predictable and can be stopped short.
“When you take that field today, you've got to lay that heart on the line, men. From the souls of your feet, with every ounce of blood you've got in your body, lay it on the line until the final whistle blows.”

ULM blew a game to Tulsa ..a team that hung 38 points on Oklahoma and 'held' Bama to a decent point total. These guys are hungry for this one and of all the games we will play This one makes or breaks us. The've played Bama Georgia Tulsa and Georgia Southern We've played ODU Wyoming and Clemson...A much tougher schedule to date.

Based on their stats they are definitely throw first.

I agree we don't need to be taking these guys lightly, but the team from Satesboro dominated them by 20+. I'm gonna be concerned if we don't win this one.

I think the "ULM blew the Tulsa game" point has kind of taken on a life of its own. ULM held a lead for about 9 and a half minutes total in that game. Tulsa outgained them by 160 yards and re-established their final 10 point margin with more than 6 minutes to play.

Basically, ULM had one really good quarter vs. Tulsa.

We can't turn the ball over to them in our end of the field or shoot ourselves with stupid personal foul penalties, jumping offsides in the red zone if expect to win. These guys are battle tested already from the schedule they have played already. We need Marcus Cox to have another breakout game!

Turnovers will be a big key, clearly hurt ULM vs Tulsa.
