I would just like to see how many on this board are going to try to make the trip to Samford. I sure hope that we as fans can make a strong showing for this game to support our team. My wife and I will be there loud and proud.

Having made the drive to Boone the last 2 weeks I look forward to the much shorter trip to Sammy from ATL. It can't possibly be as hot as it was 2 years ago....
Just look for the off-white Dodge Magnum at the stadium. Our group usually hooks up with ASUG8 and his crew.
Go Apps!

I'm not sure what time we will get to leave Saturday morning. However, we will be there.

As depressing as watching a game at Samford HS, I'm gonna try my best to get there. Should be able to. Working in the morning but I should be done by 11am. Gametime is 3 (2pm in Alabamy) so I should be fine. I'm gonna be on my own, so if anybody wants to adopt me for the afternoon, holler!

I know you've hooked up with us before so come on down! Plenty of grub on the barbie for one (or 5) more.

I would dearly love to visit my hometown and take a little Mountaineer hospitality with me. This Saturday will be dedicated to working our church's pumpkin patch with our youth, so I'll have to miss. Would y'all please yell extra loud for me?

My son and I are making the trip to Sammy HS. Trip is less than an hour longer than going to Boone for me. Look forward to seeing ASU improve to 5-2 !!

My daughter and I are hopefully going to be there. I haven't missed a game since rec ball and I can count on one hand the ones I missed then (and they still plague me!) I am a little worried about the 7 hour drive and going to where I haven't ever been before... so I may need adopting, too!

Appmom - GPS and a smart phone and you can't go wrong.

You'll be fine. Samford is actually in Homewood which is a suburb of Birmingham. The university is right off of Hwy 149 (Lakeshore Dr) which comes off of I-65. Just remember that Birmingham is not flat like most folks think it would be. The roads tend to follow the land contours like they do in Boone.
Atlanta folks, help me out here. I usually would go I-20W to I-459S to I-65N then get off at Lakeshore / Hwy 149. Do you go that lower loop or stay on I-20 until you get to I-65?

Will be there, have been to the previous 2. Hope it isn't anywhere near the heat of last time. Bright side, you can usually park about 50 yds or less to the gate.

Thanks! I have a trusty GPS... My biggest concern is parking and eating and hotels if I'm too tired to drive home!

The hotels / restaurants on that side of town are pretty good. Anything in Homewood, Mountain Brook, Vestavia should be fine. Those areas are still not too city-ish.

Remember to take some refreshments. Didn't they run out of ice and drinks two years ago?

It was about 175 degrees out there and they ran out of water before halftime!

Can't make it.
Pour one out for me and for god sakes bring some noise into that tiny little "stadium."

I need to get my tickets online, anyone with tickets know where I should try to get them since I didn't get them with my season tickets. I just decided to go Saturday.
