We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Cool!

I'm going to try to check out the Confederate Memorial and Jeff Davis' place. Definitely hitting the Railyard Brewery and some of those other bars too.

I noticed that "First White House of the Confederacy" is right near the stadium too, and it's free. That's probably going to be a Saturday morning time-killer for me. Might check out the capitol grounds too.

Well I was thumbin' from Montgomery had my guitar on my back
When a stranger stopped beside me in an antique Cadillac
Now he was dressed like 1950, half drunk and hollow-eyed
Said, "It's a long walk to Nashville, would you like a ride, son?"

Name that tune.....

You have to hit Hank's gravesite. It's just up the hill from the stadium and one of the most unusual I've seen. Kinda "country corny" if you will, and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. I like his gravesite, with lyrics from his tunes all over the tombstone, the big marble cowboy hat, the large swath of astroturf surrounding the plot...it's unique.

Also, if you're into factory tours I highly recommend the Hyundai plant tour in Montgomery. It's free and mostly conducted on trams with great audio. Not sure if it's operational at the time of the bowl, because of the holidays, etc. but it's a pretty good one. Also, for literary fans, F. Scott Fitzgerald's house, that he occupied for a short period while teaching at Alabama A&M, is available for tours and has a small museum. For civil rights buffs the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church and Rosa Parks Library & Museum (operated by Belt-brethren Troy University) are worth a visit.
