I read in the Black and Gold I received in the mail today that David Jackson is going into the App HOF. Very deserving. Quick but deserving.

I don't believe he's actually being inducted into the HOF. Think the "special service award" is something different.

I think you are correct, but it was part of the same article with the other six Mountaineers. But if he is part of the half-time show and has a display/plaque in the physical HOF then in my book he is part of the HOF. I assume there is a physical location to see the displays.

Displays at one time were upstairs of the fieldhouse where Yosef club was before moving across the street.

Under the by-laws of the ASU Former Athletes Ass'n (the "overlord" of the HOF), to be considered for induction, nominees must have completed their athletic eligibility at least five years prior to his/her nomination, while coaches become eligible for nomination three years after his/her last season of coaching. Broadcasters are not eligible for membership. This came up once before in the case of legendary Mountaineer broadcaster Charlie Harville. Harville received the FAA's highest honor for persons who neither played nor coached for the Apps. DJ's extraordinary tenure and service will be honored in the same manner as Charlie's service was.
Proud triple-degree App grad--Classes of '66, '70 and '81.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!
