This team has a knack for coming back, but if we drop this game we will be 2-7 versus the others in the top six. And, we didn't have to play either UL or USM. Might be the reason no one has us in the mix for an at-large. Going to need to win the tournament to get in and frankly, the odds aren't good.

Very disappointing. You should try to beat your rival and there's something to be said for having momentum headed into the tournament. We had it, but now we've lost it.
0-0. New season. Didn’t put ourselves in the best position with at large being chance being gone now. Oh well. Gotta win the belt now.

Zero chance in the post season with no bullpen. Those games won't be 12-11.

We get two games. Maybe we can steal one and stretch it out.

Cannot speak to coaches thoughts in terms of saving pitching for tournament....that may be why he is the coach...and I am a fan...but I really wanted to beat Stink ...they basically own App in baseball...so wanted a series win as a fan...

Disappointing finish after winning game one, but we did improve over last year's regular season win total by four and basically equaled the conference record. I agree that it seemed like our focused fell off after winning game one.

Nobody expected us to make a run in Montgomery last year so who knows what will happen next week. Pitching has to improve though.
When will "It's better than what we had" no longer be good enough for App State?

When is the last time we took a series from them ? Thought we had a shot this year.My mistake. Another was getting excited after the CCU series. They aren’t very good either.

My guess is that you play today to give you the best chance to win two to start next week. Wed and Thursday with Chirico and Steensma and you get a day off Friday. Then it becomes a war of attrition.

To Me, once that we won game 1 any other wins would be icing on the cake -at that point if I were the coach everything we did/didn't do was 100% geared toward next weeks SB tourney ---

Our only chance is to have well rested arms. I do wish we could’ve put some more runs on the board though. Offense doesn’t need rest.

It would be nice if Boyd can find his groove and go on a tear during the tournament.

I believe opposing coaches have learned he struggles with the curve that starts over the plate and ends outside the plate...but likes to swing at it

Our biggest issue offensively has been Moranta and Holderbach both going into a slump at the same time. In their last five games they've hit 4-21 and 4-22 respectively. We made our run last year thanks to good hitting up and down the lineup.

Troy Wednesday morning? In any event, if we can steal that first game we might be playing awhile longer.
