With the first game just two days away I thought I would put this clips up from the Athletics twitter account. Can't wait to see the Diamond Apps take the field!!

Weather looking good in Wilmington this weekend. VMI on Friday, George Mason and VMI in a double header on Saturday and UNCW on Sunday. Will probably be at the Sunday game. Hoping to see much improvement from last year. Go Apps!

Re: App Baseball Coming Soon
The players have bulked up since last year. They look much more athletic, much more like top-flight college baseball players. I'm trying not to let my optimism get ahead of what is bound to be a challenging season, but this team certainly passes the eye test.

I'm a lot more optimistic than I thought I would be about this year, seems the team might be as well. Glad to see us in the Keith LeClair Classic down in Greenville the first weekend in March. I think in some polls ECU is ranked as high as 6th in the country. That Sunday game will hopefully be a good benchmark test for the guys, along with USC a few days before. Pretty good schedule all around talent-wise.

Here's hoping the team makes a big jump this year. The schedule will be a challenge. In Kermit we trust!

Let's be honest, the baseball team faces a bigger challenge than our basketball team does. The Belt is a much better baseball league than it is a basketball one. If patience is required in the Holmes Center, then certainly that is the case at Beaver.

Please correct me if I'm wrong (I very well could be) but I was under the impression we at least had talent on the diamomd, BJ just kinda wasted it. I can't say there was too much talent on the roster Fox inherited. That being said I'll still be exerting patience with Kermit after the last few years but I just thought he was left with a little more ammo than Fox.

Keep in mind two folks Fox inherited are playing pro ball. He was left with a mess but the cupboard wasn't bare.
Smith inherits a corps of very young pitchers. The hope is that last year's experience will pay off. However, the Belt is a top 5 or 6 baseball league.

Our nine has potential to beat some teams, but there will also be some games where we will not be competitive. The improvements might not show in the win column in Year 1, but this team won't quit. Looking like we'll have two new starters on the weekends.

Sounds like a beautiful weekend to get the season started. I'll be in God's Country cheering on the Wrestlers against Indiana but can't wait to see the team at Beaver.
