Re: vs UNCW
Apps trail in the 3rd 1-0. Had the bases loaded nobody out in the top of the 3rd and failed to score. Struggling thus far in the early stages of the season find any offense.

Re: vs UNCW
Really..... you have bases loaded and no outs and top of the order up and you can't produce a run....... all you need is to get the ball in the outfield. They need lots of batting practice.

Re: vs UNCW
Apps lead 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh. UNCW does have runners on second and third, though.

Re: vs UNCW
3-3 in the 8th but regardless kudos for coming back in the 4th after loading the bases in the 3rd with no outs and failing to score. UNCW is no slouch of a team.
2 on and 1 out in the top of the 8th.
Edit: Apps take the lead on a wild pitch and throwing error. 4-3
Edit: 5-3 on Vernon double!

In the bottom of the 9th up 5-4...first batter strikes out but reaches first on a PB.
Edit: Two on, nobody out.

Re: vs UNCW
5-5, still none out...this would have been a huge win over #24 UNCW...we blew three leads in today's game.

Re: vs UNCW
UNCW is a quality team no doubt. They have 6 players in the lineup who are hitting over .300. Conversely, we have one. We only have two over .270.

Re: vs UNCW
Got to find some offense. With only three players batting .200 or higher, going to have get better pitching or we may suffer a number of these type games. It is encouraging that continue to scratch and fight but could have been a big win.
FWIW, Coastal starts the season 1-2, losing to Western yesterday and getting clobbered by JMU today 11-3.

When I saw Herman take the hill in the middle of the 9th, I thought the same thing. Talking with a friend the only thing that makes sense is we didn't have arms available after already playing 3 games Friday and Saturday.Yosef10 wrote:Brutal 8th and 9th innings. I'm far from an expert on the personnel of the team but I'm confused as to why you would run Herman out there for the 9th.
Tough one.
