Our white Uni’s with the Moore “Mountaineer” script are so clean. Up 8-2 T6. Hamilton having a day on the bump and the bats are hot. Cross is having a heck of a season at the plate.

I used to say to my teams- win every inning. You score every time up and you generally win. Keep rolling

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
This would be a time to pull Xander. 110 pitches. He had a great outing. Surely someone else can get a few outs to win a 9-2 game.
On que. Gets the out and turns to the bullpen. Standing O for Hamilton, what a day kid! 9 k’s 6.1 innings 2 Runs. He pumped up the crowd leaving the field!!!

Coach leaving Steensma in too long for a 3 inning save. Dropped fly ball to make it 10-7 T9 2 out.

Apps Win! 60 pitch save for Steensma. We are going to need to find a setup man or he’s going to get worn out. Don’t look now, hot streak.

I would have given St. Laurent an error on that fly ball. The official scorer apparently didn’t see it that way.

Home field advantage haha. Definitely an E. CJ Boyd healthy and in the lineup has been a different vibe for us. Keep swinging it Apps!

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Steensma only pitched two innings and threw 26 pitches. (The pitch count on the broadcast was wrong.)

Hahaha I thought I saw Brooks out there for an inning so was confused. Their hair looks alike! And similar pitch speed.

Wilder called him off when it wasn’t his ball. 7 catches that easy otherwise.

Getting GA State’s starter out early was huge and will help the rest of the weekend. Keep the bats hot and go win a series tomorrow

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
I was following on Live Stats, so looked like a good win. Did we leave the reliever in longer to save arms for the weekend since we had a big lead? Hate to let them score those runs late, but a great win over a hot team.

Yep. ERA under 3. That is very good for college baseball. When they showed our starter ERA that was almost 6..my first thought was "this may be a long night". Our starter was really good for several innings. Ye of little faith I guess. Great winAppstate35 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 24, 2023 9:16 pmGetting GA State’s starter out early was huge and will help the rest of the weekend. Keep the bats hot and go win a series tomorrow

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
It goes without saying that a sweep over any conference opponent would be fantastic but those will be tough. Its obviously early but a quick look at the (also early) conference standings indicates what could be a wide open race. We have a big series with La next weekend and they lost to what appears to be a bad Monroe team. I see lots of scores in double figures so pitching will be all over the place for several teams. I think we don't need to get too worked up about mid week non-conference games. Weekend pitching is what is critical. Getting the Friday night win in any series is huge.

Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
I feel like the balls are juiced or something. Teams are scoring way more it feels like. Or the portal has led to struggling pitching. NCAA on a pitch clock? Maybe that’s whybigdaddyg wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 8:25 amIt goes without saying that a sweep over any conference opponent would be fantastic but those will be tough. Re: 2023 Baseball Mega Thread
Maybe we do this already but don’t think we do. I’d love to see a Military Appreciation baseball game where we wear a camo hat or camo jersey. Maybe snow camo? Roll an Army vehicle thru the gates to attract young kids and families. Get a vet to throw out the first pitch, maybe sit in the dugout for a little. Get the community involved. Or an EMS/Fire/PD day. Saturday thoughts after yardwork haha!
