2024 Baseball Mega Thread

Getting on base isn't our problem. We get on base at an unreal clip and are at the top in OBP% across the nation. Something like 49 HBP in 15 games is wild.
Problem is, we don't get them over and in. Everyone playing in college should be able to sac bunt. It's part of practice, BP, cage work. Pollard would make us show bunt all the time, and sometimes it was just to create better angles to hit, ie- move the 3rd basemen in and rope a single in the 5 hole. Or pull the 1st baseman off the bag to create a larger lead for runner on first so he had a better chance of being safe on fake bunt and steal. Real genius stuff!

I would love a team that directionally bunts. Put the infield in a position to make an awkward throw. In college, sometimes just putting the ball in play can lead to chaos.

I’m hoping that is a booming event for both programs. Baseball deserves great turnout with how they finished last season. Going to the game tomorrow with my parka and tube just in case we float away.

I wonder if the access to spring practice had anything to do with it.

I think that Saturday’s NIL event will be well attended if for no other reason than to show the administrators that an annual event could be beneficial.
