I am a "Happy Appy" that loves Boone NC. I have a place in Linville and am in no way saying Boone doesn't deserve App baseball. However, I think Hickory is a huge opportunity to take on ECU and UNCC. WE NEED TO EMBRACE HICKORY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I think it would be strategic to get Hickory locals thinking App as their college. I can see the medical school in Hickory, a law school in Hickory and a path to 35000 AppState students with 15,000 in Hickory. We need the power Hickory provides.

I think lending the Baseball team to Hickory to build the love for AppState being a win win for everyone. It is just a thought.

I could not disagree more with the thought of putting the baseball team or future professional schools in Hickory. If App, and this is a big if, ever gets a medical or law school it should be in Boone. Satellite undergrad campus in Hickory is one thing, but all on campus post grad opportunities should be in Boone. We often talk about wanting professional schools to build an alumni base of higher earners. If that is one of the goals, have them in Boone where they will fall in love with the place and want to be vested in the future. This won't happen with the same magnitude if all those students attend class an hour down the mountain. I just don't really believe that satellite campuses build love in the same way that the main campus does. Much like online classes/schools, I think satellite campuses are just viewed as a convenient way to earn a degree.

I will give you the part about the higher learning Law degree could be handled on the mountain. ( I would argue it could be done both on the mountain and off the mountain....let the professor travel) but, if you think North Carolina is going to build a BIG MAJOR hospital in Boone you are still smoking the funny looking thing in East dorm!!!!!!!!! The biggest difference between ECU and APP is their medical school. The western part of the state is going to get one eventually. Do you want it to say APP or UNCC????

I don't really think App is getting either of those schools, nor a dental school for that matter. It would be great if we did, but I won't be holding my breath as there is nothing I can do to influence it one way or another.

I don’t understand pulling Harris in the 7th after 7 pitches and 3 outs with a 5-1 lead. Sleeper comes in and instantly gives up a run in the 8th and after 3 batters is pulled. I get the bullpen by committee, but, at some point, trying to win is more important. Pitching coach problems.
