Two series in a row and three out of four. We're so close to being second right now.

If Nolan can do that consistently, we can be scary.
Get Smith back healthy and DuPont- real scary.

Has DuPont played all year? Cannot remember.
If not, any chance he RS given how late we are getting into the season?

Thanks. So, like only 1 or 2 conference games. I only watched a few nonconference games as basketball had me preoccupiedAppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 7:01 amYes. He played in the first 17 games.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 6:08 amHas DuPont played all year? Cannot remember.

I was hoping Evans had gotten a Medical RS last year, but he was probably above the threshold of GP as well.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 7:01 amYes. He played in the first 17 games.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 6:08 amHas DuPont played all year? Cannot remember.

Would be great to squeeze another year from him if possible!

Got this from Google
Division I & III: Traditionally, playing in zero games is required for a standard redshirt. If an athlete plays in a game and then gets injured, they must apply for a medical hardship waiver (30% rule).
Medical Redshirt: To get a medical redshirt (any division), the injury must be season-ending and occur in the first half of the season, and the player must not have competed in more than 30% of the team's games.

4-13 in Quad 1, 2 and 3.
Man- I bet that Gardner Webb series is a 30 point swing and sitting 22-12 looks alot better than 19-15.
Keep winning series and we have a shot.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Huge 2 weeks incoming.
Western away- big revenge game and chance to boost RPI
Away at JMU for 3
Home v ETSU- huge game to sweep them.
Ga Southern in Boone for 3.
If we can win 4 of the next 5 before the Stink shows up....immaculate vibes in Boone that weekend for our biggest rival.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
We will not be making the at-large to WS given our overall record. Our fate is we have to win SBC tournament. As such, Kermit do what you think is best to prep for SBC as it relates to OOC midweek games.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Yes- we have to win the SBC tourney to advance. But if we don't, we still have to be better than .500 for a return. So, in a way- all games matter here on out.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 10:58 amWe will not be making the at-large to WS given our overall record. Our fate is we have to win SBC tournament. Good news is there are only 3 midweeks left and those won't make or break us. All difficult teams.
Will only prep us for conf. play even more.

Agreed. The OOC games do not matter at this stage.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 10:58 amWe will not be making the at-large to WS given our overall record. Our fate is we have to win SBC tournament. As such, Kermit do what you think is best to prep for SBC as it relates to OOC midweek games.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
At 17 games he on the fringe. We would need to play 57 games for him to qualify. Provided we have zero rain outs the rest of the way, there are 52 regular season games. So we will need to play 5, maybe 6 post season games to get to the threshold.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 13, 2026 9:55 amGot this from Google

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
If we win out we won’t get an atlarge unless we win in Montgomery. Well , that’s an automatic but you get my point. First things first, get to the conference tournament by taking these weekend series.

Is the threshold to return next year > than .500 in SBC play or overall record?
That's what I was alluding to. Midweeks still might matter to boost his resume to return-not for tourney chances.
We all know at-large was shot the second we got swept by GW.

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
Kermit midweek interview was great.
He alluded to the fact that we have only been "beaten" (other team just dominated) 1 time in conference play (Sunday USM). Kind of crazy to think about. We've been in every other game with a chance to win. Keep fighting!

Re: 2026 Baseball Mega Thread
My take is that in year ten , with one year left on his contract, a losing conference record brings a change. The AD will be on the spot , especially if we don’t make the tournament. There was significant discussion after last season’s meltdown concerning expectations for improvement. And some push for a change then. My hope is that we go say 10-5 the rest of the conference slate and win a game or two in Montgomery. I really think we can but I could see it flip just as easily.

Getting freaking destroyed again.
7 runs in a row without recording an out in the 3rd inning.
9-2 still no outs in the 3rd.
It was 3-2…

We might have to win the tourney or at minimum get to the final.Stonewall wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2026 1:18 pmMy take is that in year ten , with one year left on his contract, a losing conference record brings a change. Getting 10 run ruled by Western twice and swept by Gw is not okay.
