Re: App v. Quinnipiac
End of 7th App still trails 4-3, bases were loaded with one out, come away with 0. Left 2 men on in the 6th.

Re: App v. Quinnipiac
Game one Apps lose 2-7, score was 0-5 after 2nd inning, ugly.
Game two Apps lose 2-3, score was tied after 6, sound familiar?
1 -7
Starting to wonder if we'll win even 1 Sun Belt game. Might be a little harsh, however, we are pretty bad.

Re: App v. Quinnipiac
I've tried to defend Billy in his first few years, but losing 3 of 4 to this team is unacceptable. It's year 4 and the team isn't getting better from his first 3 years. I know we're playing a lot of freshmen so lets hope they can improve by the end of the year, but if not I don't think anyone could argue against making a change.
I don't expect us to win the Sun Belt every year as it is VERY competitive, but we shouldn't get outplayed by programs like this.

Re: App v. Quinnipiac
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe we've ever released a coach of one of our non-revenue sports while that coach had a year or more left on his or her contract. If we have, it's a rare occurrence. Given the state of our finances, it's doubtful it'll happen in this instance. The only thing we're doing by constantly complaining about the head baseball coach is insuring a long, painful slog to the end of his contract. Me? I'm excited to watch how the youngest team in college baseball develops over the next few years.

Re: App v. Quinnipiac
I am all for watching young talent grow through the years. I am a Braves fan and even after what the front office has done to that team, I am very excited for the program.
In many ways, App baseball is in the same position. Young and unproven. The difference is, I have zero confidence that BJ can develop these players to grow into a formidable team. This is his 4th season and I can't think of one player he has recruited that has improved year over year. He gets credit for guys drafted, however I believe everyone that has left and been drafted was recruited by Pollard's staff. The win totals have steadily declined each year as Pollard's guys have rolled out.
Its year 4, why are we turning to freshman? What has BJ been doing the last 3 years? Not building a team. He is a career recruiter at prominent baseball schools across the country. Why would someone with such a long resume not been head coach, other than 2 years at a Jr College, before CC (a friend) came calling?
The players have my full support. I hope they surprise this year. Regarding BJ though - I have tried and honestly, I am just not seeing it.

I'd be surprised if we did let him go, but if this season continues to go the way it has started I don't think anyone could defend him.AppGrad78 wrote:Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe we've ever released a coach of one of our non-revenue sports while that coach had a year or more left on his or her contract.
