Series at ULM, Thursday-Saturday

Due to Easter, App baseball is playing tonight, Thursday and going through Saturday.
Game times are 7 pm Thursday and Friday and 2 pm on Saturday.
Bit of a pitching change this weekend as the starters are Gorham, Hampton and Schmid, in that order. Seth Hardin is being moved to mid-week starter. According to BWN, the weekend lineup once the schedule goes back to Friday through Sunday will be Hampton, Gorham and Schmid in that order.
ULM is 0-3 in the Sun Belt. Getting swept here would be awful as it would put the Apps at least two games behind the team that's next-to-last.

There are 28 paydays left on Billy Jones' contract, each for $8,750 in base pay, which is $245,000 total.

To my knowledge we have never bought out a "non-revenue" sport coach's contract. I wanted to give Billy a chance, but unfortunately I'm now in the camp that wishes Billy's is the first. He has returned the program to dark days and beyond, all while alienating baseball donors as well as current and former players. This is the equivalent to the Capel hire for baseball. He's tactics may work for P5 programs, but he's never going to get that opportunity because he refused to adjust his approach to the mid-major game. This was a bad hire for both sides, he would have been better off spending 10 more years at a power program and waiting for a HC job at that level.

If there is a tendency to alienate donors and players how could he be successful at any level?

I only ask this because I don't understand. What is the approach he is using that works at the P5 level but isn't working for us?

He is afraid (or just doesn't want) to do the little things that bigger staffs have done for him in the past. We don't have additional staff members that can make up for the little things Pollard did to keep donors and prior players engaged.

BINGO! Pollard was/is a manager and knows how to delegate. BJ doesn't strike me as being from that mold.

Apps just score 2 runs in the top of the 9th to take a 5-4 lead going to the bottom of the 9th. Close it out boys. It's taken 5 errors from Monroe to give us the lead, but who cares.

3 hits. 16 strikeouts. 2 walks. 2 HBP. 5 ULM errors. 1 W.
At this point I'll take'em anyway they come.

I've started to keep track of the defensive lineups this season. So far, there have been 18 different defensive lineups this season. Six different players alone have started at third base. There's been only four games this season without an in-game replacement and that's not counting the pitcher or DH.

Lost 6-2 today. 1-8 in the Sun Belt and 5-19 overall.
Next up is a home stand. NC Central on Wednesday and then Little Rock, who swept Troy at home.
