Re: Michigan Tuesday night
Love it! I saw us get punches square in the mouth and our guys didn't fold. They came back and punched back. I can't say the last time I saw a team in black and gold play that hard regardless of the score. Very excited for our future!

Impressive comeback. No shame in an 8 point loss to Michigan. Loved the fight that didn't quit.

Also Kendell Lewis looks good, and Forest looks more well built and explosive. Again very excited moving forward!

We were down 4 and had to foul, so it was closer than the score indicates too!DaphneUrquhart wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 9:10 pmImpressive comeback. No shame in an 8 point loss to Michigan. Loved the fight that didn't quit.

That God! I’ve never been more happy about a loss. We look like an actual team. Not an NBDL camp

I haven’t read any of the posts but I can imagine the range of emotions.Down 30....people had to be blaming Ted Roof....incredible comeback...invoking Bobby Cremmins. I saw chemistry with the team, coaches and love the effort and new additions to the team. I am very optimistic.

Actually blame was given to Capel which let Roof off to easy in my opinion.Rekdiver wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 9:25 pmI haven’t read any of the posts but I can imagine the range of emotions.Down 30....people had to be blaming Ted Roof....incredible comeback...invoking Bobby Cremmins. Equally as important...For any students that frequent this message board, get out there and encourage other students to attend some home basketball games.

I had not planned to come up for the ECU game Tuesday night, but after watching them last night I just might drive up. Had planned on the Greensboro tournament all along. But damn, these guys have some fight in them!

Re: Michigan Tuesday night
I drove down to Ann Arbor to watch the game. I have followed App State football for many years and have seen a number of games in Boone. But this was my first real look at an App State basketball team and I was not disappointed.
This is the way I saw it. It was a game of two halves. In the first half Michigan dominated in the low post. They had a center at 7-1 and for much of the half they also played a 6-11 forward. App State had absolutely no answer. Their two 6-9 forwards were not getting the job done and by halftime the game was getting ugly.
But what a difference in the second half. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out what Michigan was doing in the second half. It looked to me as if they almost abandoned their low post offense and decided to work on their perimeter game. It almost cost them.
Michigan started taking a lot of shots from outside that were not falling and they also started to turn the ball over. They played their 7-1 guy almost all the way but in the second half App State was double and sometimes triple teaming him. His was not a big factor. App State picked up the defense and on offense started running off missed shots. And they were finally hitting their shots.
It turned out to be a whole different game from the first half and it was fun to watch the comeback. Why Michigan decided to go away from what had been working for them remains a mystery to me. Anyway, I was glad I made the long trip down to AA and back.
I will have to make it a point to watch more App State basketball in the future.
