Skiing in Montana, had spotty service but watched most of 2nd half. A dub is a dub, but we gotta beat a good team at some point!

I honestly think we have guys on this board who want App to fail and to lose. For crying out loud the never ending bitching and complaining by a few are insufferable. Yes it's a discussion board but damn find something..anything positive to say once in a while.

It had more to do with ULM somehow managing to play worse than we did. I am 100% a glass half full type of person, but damn, this team brings out the Negative Nellie in me and I hate that.

Had 17 pt lead shot well in first half… played good D… in second half got cold and some of their shots finally went down …. The Harcum closed it out at the free throw line…. and continued to play good D at the end of of the game. 5th place.

It had more to do with ULM somehow managing to play worse than we did. I am 100% a glass half full type of person, but damn, this team brings out the Negative Nellie in me and I hate that.

Oh? I thought it was hitting open shots, only having 3 turnovers in the first half, making them commit 6 in first half and scoring 10 of those, holding their star player to zero points in the first half (and 9 total), and making them take tough shots as the shot clock was winding down that helped that lead. My bad. Didn't realize it was absolutely nothing we did that caused all of those things. Thanks ULM for doing all of those things even though we apparently just stood at half court and let you do whatever you wanted!

Second half was much to be desired, but news flash... both teams wanted to win! ULM came out with a different defensive strategy and more effort. It slowed us down. We continued with the great defense and held them to 25% shooting on the night. Did ULM play bad in the first half? Yes. Was it in part because of the defense we played? APPsolutely. Did we play poor offense in the second half? Yes. Was it in part because of the defense they played? APPsolutey.

Good news is we held them/forced them to 25% from the floor. The bad news is we could have easily lost to a team that shot 25% from the floor…..but we didn’t

I really admire you guys that can watch us play and still somehow stay upbeat. I don't understand where you get some of us want us to fail and lose. That's a cheap shot. The fact of the matter is we are a mediocre team at best right now. Frustrating to say the least. We have given away so many games that we should have won and in fact, had in the bag if we could do some simple things like inbound a ball and make a few free throws. If ULM hadn't gone 0 for the last 3 minutes, this would have been another one. I'm happy we won. I still hold out hope that we can get our act together and run off a string of wins because I think we have the talent. It's just a matter of finding some consistency. But right now, We're not seeing it.

The thing is, great defense can only take you so far. You still have to outscore the other team. We did that tonight, so, "YEA!" But playing the way we do is not sustainable.
