ASU women only score 17 points in the 2nd half after a 32-32 tie at halftime and being up by 10, I believe, in the first half... They lose at Davidson 65-49.

They had only scored 4 points after about 14 minutes into the second half. Our outside shooting was really bad in the second half and without scoring we were never able to get into our zone press to slow Davidson down. There was a good showing of App fans in attendance however.

And Davidson is not likely the best in the SoCon this year. That's likely to be Chattanooga.
Essentially the same talent from last year but not really playing that well thus far.

Our franchise player, senior
Anna Freeman, was only 3 of 12 from the floor.
Kelsey Sharkey was considerably off of her game. On the other hand, Davidson's 6-4
Sophia Aleksandravicius wiped us out with a double-double...19 points, 12 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Game, set, match! We have no answer for her; and she's only a junior.

This is one of the most individually talented teams that ASU has ever fielded on the women's side of the game. And while they have some good wins thus far, they have generally fallen short in the big games this season. This team is as experienced as we have put on the floor in some time and the season is far from over. Darcie has some work to do.

Darcie has done a great job bring building up the program from terrible to contender, but her teams haven't been able to take the next step. For some reason they always seem to fall short in the big games. She has to figured out a way to get them over the hump.

Just goes to show you that even great coaches have bad showings on some occasions.

At least she has gotten the program to the point where we acutally
have "big games."
