Did he ever become eligible or is he just not able to crack the rotation?

I don't believe he's eligible.

I have seen him on the bench in street clothes throughout the season and he doesn't appear to have any noticeable injury, so I'd assume he did not get eligible.

Does anyone know the story here? He's a kid we wanted badly and I think he has 3 more years after this one. It'd be great to get him out there, he could certainly help us.

Frye sustained a very serious head injury - life threatening in fact - 4 games into his freshman year at Tulane (2010-11) and just recently been cleared by Dr's to play. The young man has my respect for just having the courage to step on a basketball floor again.

I covered it a bit when he was added to the roster. He transferred to UNCW in 2011-12 but didn't show any interest in playing although Buzz wanted him to. That's probably why he's having eligibility issues.
