In the midst of an 13-0 run... App St playing inspired defense...

I really hope we can keep this up. I am keeping my expectations tempered as of now. To say that Davidson has had our number this year would be an understatement.

Caple lacked the experience to be a good head coach from day 1. That doesn't mean he'll never be good, it's just that learning on the job can be painful. In his profession, that pain is in full public view and shared by all fans. I'm willing to give him the chance to learn and, hopefully, succeed.

I'd be willing to give Capel another season if he can bring us the SoCon Tourney Championship and the chance to play in the big dance.

28-26 Apps at the half. Healey and company are fired up, but our defense has suffered since Baskin left.

We are not likely to keep Davidson at bay but give the guys credit, this is 1000% better than the previous two meetings when the game was over by this point.

Last time we played Davidson we were blow out by what, 20+ points? Very impressive today

The guys are playing tough. Have to cut down on turnovers if were going to have a chance.

If we can at least keep it close in the second half I will be happy after our previous two games against Davidson. And stranger things have happened. Take a look at the thread I just put up in the "other school" section. 20 loss team makes the dance.

It's a tough task and unlikely to happen off the bat, but if we can adequately replace what Healy brings to this team, with only 2 seniors graduating, chances are this team could be even better next year, (provided they continue to build on the momentum they have built to end this season.)

Perhaps most importantly, Davidson loses Cohen and Brooks among others, so there's no outright "team to beat" next year in the SoCon.

Also factor in that next year is truly the make or break year for Capel in terms of his expiring contract, and you have a reason to be optimistic.

The SoCon is a very young league. Davidson loses the most. Some teams have only one senior. Could be very competitive next year indeed.

Nice effort by the guys. Same old story of not being able to hold a lead. Particularly disturbing with Davidson in such foul trouble and best inside player Brooks only playing 3 min in 1st half. Cohen saddled with fouls most of the game as well and didn't play much from the 10 min mark until 4 min left. Davidson had players step up and fill the ranks.

I am glad Healy got the last shot.

My only complaint is that we didn't see an effort like that until the final games of the season.

I never thought at any point that by the end of the year I'd be more optimistic about the men's team than the women's.
