Yes - but why does APP play it as if it there is some kind of connection? - Appalachian Spring is a tune that gives me cold-chills - WVU plays it but it would certainly fit perfectly for APP - back when I went to games I believe they played it in part of their standard pre-game show ---
In the BOD's pregame show a prominent phrase from Appalachian Spring/Simple Gifts is played.

At the rate some teams are dropping out let's hope this song is not what happens for App basketball.

Scott Tobias was the Director in 2017 and is currently Director of Bands -
Scott Tobias learned just about everything he knows about marching, concert and ensemble bands at App State. And his former students at App and UCF would still march through concrete block walls for him! Facts are facts! :!:

Today's Dance themed music is not one song but the entire live album from Fleetwood Mac.

So here is the real question. If we get in the Michigan bracket and win our play in game, who wins in a fight, Kerns or Howard? Howard got in his warm up yells but I don't think Kerns will need a warm up.

Wasting a few minutes at work. I compared the list of teams in the dance against the list of teams who also played in a bowl game. By my count it is 16 and of course we are included. Interestingly according to how the tournament teams are ranked 13 of the top 35 played in a bowl. The other 3 are App, Liberty and North Texas (the team whose ass we whipped!)- lol

Someone help me understand how the play-in concept works. I don't understand why two of the "play-in" games are for an 11 seed. Why wouldn't they have all the play-in teams playing for a 16? That seems counter intuitive.

My guess is that an example is the 11v11 this year - Michigan St against UCLA - they each were under consideration for a final berth - it wouldn't be fair to the #1 seeds to make this game a 16v16 -

It’s basically the last four auto bid teams (16 vs. 16) and the last four auto bid teams (11 vs. 11). I have no problem with it, nor with us being one of the last four auto bid teams this year.

I think you mean the last four auto bid teams and the last four at large teams.

Correct. I suffer from AppinVA syndrome at times.
