Re: Going Dancin'
I still maintain that, without the unscheduled Covid break in our season, App would have picked up at least 2 or 3 more W's in conference play. The thing is, those losses probably helped fuel our tournament wins so maybe I shouldn't be second guessing things. Winning 4 games in 4 days is an amazing accomplishment though. GO APPS!

Re: Going Dancin'
Outside this past weekend, there’s nothing in our resume that points to avoiding the First Four. Our only hope is for some of the upsets mentioned in a previous post.

OK - we are all ecstatic about this March Madness, so I'm only asking as a point of interest to us since none of us have any votes ---
If you HAD to make the choice which one would you choose -
1. Play in the First Round (16 v 16)
2. Play the first game against a #1 or #2

Re: Going Dancin'
Mt. St. Marys has taken over the last spot - we are now in the 16v16 in the Illinois bracket against Prairie View (I know this is not official - just giving that update) - hope we don't get matched with A&T because I want to pull for them as well -

Almost hate to wish for it but option #2 with a Michigan match-up has some appeal to it.WVAPPeer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 9:59 amOK - we are all ecstatic about this March Madness, so I'm only asking as a point of interest to us since none of us have any votes ---

Re: Going Dancin'
I've seen one prediction (Andy Katz's bracket prediction) that has us as a 15 seed playing Bama in the first round. I would be ecstatic with that, but I'm fine with wherever we land. Andy Katz works for the Big 10 Network.

He dropped us this morning into the 16vs16 against A&T with the right to face Gonzaga.

Still surreal that we are in March discussing if we want Bama, Michigan or Gonzaga.

Who would have thought 6 months ago that the App BASKETBALL team would be dancing, but football would fail to make the CCG? The craziness never stops! Great year for the Apps!!!

Re: Going Dancin'
Time for another "Dance" themed song. Not a fan of the song but it does fit the theme. I was going to do Bowie and already taken.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.

Re: Going Dancin'
Whereas a win in a 16 v 16 game would definitely be a positive, a matchup against #1 is going to be a loss (maybe a 1% chance) whereas #15's beat #2's just about every year

Re: Going Dancin'
Siena/Iona lost in MAAC so winner will likely go to Play-in game. Saint Peter's might still land above us, but the other three would almost certainly be below.
If anyone but Prairie View A&M wins SWAC they'll likely go to Play-in as well. Upsets in the Southland would be big if we had any hope of moving up to a #15. UMass Lowell beating Hartford would be helpful.

Colgate is 13-1 and played 12 games. The Patriot league broke into 3 divisions and only played each other several times. They had 4 wins over 6 win Boston U and 4 wins over 5 win HC. They don’t play the championship game until Sunday against now 6 win Loyola. How they (or Loyola) avoids the playin would be amazing.

Re: Going Dancin'
Iona beat Sienna last night. They are still alive in the MAAC and play again Friday. The last I looked their NET was better than ours. Those Troy losses are killing us.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 9:57 amSiena/Iona lost in MAAC so winner will likely go to Play-in game.
