Taking highly contested shots, if we aren’t hitting threes our offense is brutal to watch.
If Delph ever got hurt we might have the worst offense in the NCAA

How can a team so strong fundamentally on the defensive side of the ball seem to lack the basics on offense? No ball movement, weak screens, forced shots, poor movement away from the ball. The effort on defense doesn’t match what’s going on on the other side of the court. (Posted Halftime)
Answer: Conditioning.

First 10 minutes of second half on offense looked great. Defense remained strong as long as we stayed man to man. The 2-3 zone wasn’t working.

Final 10 minutes is finishing with the same forced shots, poor ball movement, and weak offensive fundamentals that closed out the first half.

If we win this, we’re lucky.

Maybe using more of our bench would help that

Shot selection is troublesome, Forrest made an incredibly difficult shot.

Lucky to win, but any road win is a great one.

Glad to get win. When up by 1 with 27 seconds left and only 4 fouls...how do you let a guy drive all way to basket. You got to foul the guy on the drive before the shot.
With that said, we will take the W.

Led most of the game... last three or four possessions we got sloppy. Good for JF hitting the two free throws and making a difficult shot for the game winner. Maybe just maybe that will help him get untracked. Delph was a beast! Still finding ways to win. Nice job boys!

JFo with the fader for the Win! First win in Atlanta as a Sun Belt member. Not pretty but we “mucked” it up enough in the end to get it done and get out of town. That’s all that matters. “Hate” game is next.

I was hoping to reach lips of the coaches in the last timeout saying those exact words- “guys we have 2 fouls to give, any drive foul the guy”.

Had 8 points in the last 7:40 of the game. Looked like we went into prevent/clock use...I wish we would not do that...Play the offense that got you there. That being said it was a scrappy good win. This is an easy team to pull for and Kearns is getting it done.

Kerns .Well a little luck never hurts and I'll take it.As an aside , on their much reviewed 3 pointer near the end , the guy traveled.

Good point! Great win tonight, anytime you beat the Panthers on the road you don't complain. But this has been an ongoing problem this year. It's like we try to sit on leads that are nowhere close to being safe. I mean I understand that we are a defensive team, but I do think maybe we slow down the offense too early sometimes. Happened against Iona and Vermont also.

For sure. He shuffled the left foot as he pulled the right foot back. You know the refs saw it when they replayed that shot 49 times trying to get a clear view of the line. They couldn’t correct that but they damn sure saw it. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a 3 point attempt be as inconclusive as that one was.

Another great win. We’ve won 3 straight by the absolute slimmest of margins. Feels good to be on this side of those for a change, although keeping our foot on the gas a little longer would be nice too.

I said the same...."He either had his foot on the line or he walked. If they give him the three they are admitting a mistake."
