No At-large chance with the current OOC schedule leak announced. Hope there are some bigger teams on the schedule. Win the Belt!

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Again we have contacted the vast majority of D1 schools in NC , offering home and home .They do not however have alumni bases in Boone , nor is it a hotbed for recruiting students, the opposite of our situation in about every instance east of Cullowhee , giving them different priorities.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Ideally we land one of the in-season tournaments where we can get 3~ neutral court games over a single weekend.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
If that happens it will need to be against better opposition with better results than last season.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 3:26 pmIdeally we land one of the in-season tournaments where we can get 3~ neutral court games over a single weekend.
Pretty sure we have Northern Illinois in the MAC- SBC challenge.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
I know it doesn’t really make much sense for our program, but from a fan perspective I wouldn’t mind seeing us play LR regularly. It might give the hickory students a chance to feel more part of the university if we played at LR and created a mini rivalry. I think they would at least be competitive against us. It would be better than a NCCAA school.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Agreed last season was a weak field and yet the results were poor... Several tournaments have already announced there fields and unfortunately App nowhere to be found.appfanjj wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 9:52 amIf that happens it will need to be against better opposition with better results than last season.agentpaul001 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 3:26 pmIdeally we land one of the in-season tournaments where we can get 3~ neutral court games over a single weekend.

Zero benefit on our end, would be like playing nearby Lees-MCrae yearlyASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 10:03 amI know it doesn’t really make much sense for our program, but from a fan perspective I wouldn’t mind seeing us play LR regularly. Re: 23-24 Schedule
Why a “secret scrimmage” with Winthrop?
Should have had the Oakland guys as a scrimmage and played Winthrop regular season.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
You are right. It makes more sense to play Warren Wilson, Milligan, Carver, Ferrum Mars Hill and Oakland City. Every year we play a warm up against lesser comp. I would prefer that to be a school like LR.HurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 12:05 pmZero benefit on our end, would be like playing nearby Lees-MCrae yearlyASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 10:03 amI know it doesn’t really make much sense for our program, but from a fan perspective I wouldn’t mind seeing us play LR regularly. Re: 23-24 Schedule
IF we occasionally played LR it should NEVER be in Hickory.
I have no problem with the UNCA game in Hickory.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
We won't play at a D2. Scheduling has been tough , trying to get home and homes is an uphill climb , no pun intended. But we are close and I like what I'm hearing .A tough non-conference slate.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Nice, hopefully pans out! We've had a couple recent seasons (like 21-22) where the non-conf schedule looked weak at the outset and ultimately proved to be pretty decent.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
Some great road trips for the kids , as well as a few easy to attend non-conference games for the fans.

Are we still in a deal with Charlotte? Believe it would be their turn to come to Boone?

Re: 23-24 Schedule
The latest Charlotte contract expired after this past season. As of end of June, there wasn't a new contract.

Re: 23-24 Schedule
No . UNCC has chosen not to renew. There is a chance that might change but the clock is about to run out. That is what I know .I can surmise that they want games in areas they recruit , and frankly they can't afford a loss to us , which I am confident we would deliver in Boone this year.
