Huge win! Rivalry game on the road was always going to be tough. GA Southern flipped a switch after Christmas and is much better than their record shows. Calls not always going our way. We pushed thru and found a way. Showed great resilience. This win will pay dividends going forward.

With our play style, teams like UNCA and Ga Southern are always going to be a tough matchup. Fast paced, live and die by the 3. With Southern’s big guys getting into foul trouble early, it forced them to play like this even more than usual. Proud of the guys for finding a way to win. IMO, a team like Alabama would be the hardest first weekend matchup for us in the tournament.

Sure, there are things we can fix (free throws, last play of the half play calling, etc) but cannot speak any higher of this team. Amazing what Kerns and the crew have done over the past few years. Abson and Harcum showed flashes of this last season and early on this season. However, they’ve both turned it up a notch and become more consistent as of late! Go App! Take the Stairs!
