Even as App won big, kudos to ODU. Following an emotional week and getting pummeled by the Mountaineers early on, there was no quit in the Monarchs. App’s defense was solid, but ODU was absolutely on fire from the arc and had decent success penetrating to the basket.

Had App started slow (as we’ve come to expect from this squad), this one could’ve turned out very differently.

Finally, it was really great to see Mantis find his shot…kid was dropping NBA-range bombs and they were falling. Let’s hope he hangs on to that magic for the next month.

He does space the floor nicely. I would love to see Huntley post up some. I know it's not really his game but he had so many mismatches last night under the rim on small guards when we run high low with Spillers at FT line and Huntley under the rim. He would be unstoppable at 6'10 with his length. Athletic, can shoot the 3, and post up! Whew, that's a nightmare to guard.

I love how our guards recognize the mismatches and get it to Spillers or Abson as soon as the other team makes a bad switch.

Huntley needs to develop a half-hook shot. It would shield defender to opposite shoulder of shooting hand. With his height and arm length, it would be difficult to stop..other than pushing him out of the lane given his lack of weight.
