It will be interesting to see who they would go after. It feels like NC State fans will want someone with a bigger name and I hope they do. Could they perhaps target someone like Jay Wright if they make a change?

Tonight, NCSU looks like they want to give their coach one more game.

Bynum has been linked to WVU but time will tell.

the State situation is interesting. Their fans have wanted him gone a long time now, but I the administration is concerned with who would want to come to the Triangle and face up with duke and Carolina. I recently read some analyst who said that coaches would rather go somewhere other than the ACC because of those two progams. There could a drop in Durham though. The duke fans are concerned about Scheyer and they say K wanted Capel to take over.

I did see one State fan say he had Kerns on his list after this season.

Michigan job is open. Would they want an App State guy? :D

It is an uphill battle at NC State. Two blue bloods down the street..The two Natty's they have won in 74 and 83 followed by probation a few years after each. If I were a coach considering options, that would be low on the list.
Michigan actually is not a bad option. Izzo is getting old at the competition school in the state. Could have some short term success that builds to long term success as State may be in flux.

Izzo has been passed by at this point. He needs to retire like K, boeheim, and that generation. Even though Calipari has had some nice he hasn't had a chip since 11-12 even with all that talent.
That Michigan job is a great one to pick up.
NC state is a better job then you might think. A lot of coaches would love to make that kind of money and if you can pull off a string of 22-26 win seasons then you parlay that into one of the big jobs around the country.

Which NC State coach in the last 25 years has parlayed that job to a better school. For that matter has been to the final four...the job is what the job is based upon its history

That's because they haven't had a coach with a winning career conference record since Valvano. Like I said, someone has to use it to win which is possible.

That is most P5 jobs that are not blue bloods....

Welp, let's see if the cardiac pack does it again. Does he keep his job now?

Hate them both, but I hope I’m wrong would love to see the holes lose. However, I think we all know how this story goes. NCSU and their fans are cursed  Do enough to get their hopes up, then get dreams dashed. Rinse and repeat. They probably lose by 20 tonight.

Screw both of them.

GO APPS!!

State has to beat the curse, the refs, and UNC. A tall task, but there is nothing better than beating UNCheat.

Nothing finer than whipping uncheat! Plus I read that with the win and championship Keitt got himself a 3 year extension and about $5 million in incentive bonuses. Not too shabby for a coach who was on the hot seat.
