After Kaso went off at Troy, South Alabama focused on him and Tot went off. Then against EMU, Dodd went off. GaSo was focused on Luke that Michael Marcus Jr got 20 points and 10 boards and Kaso and Dodd got 31 and 18, respectively.

And then you gotta try to score against the best defense in the league.

Troy loss obviously helps, but tbh Marshall losing would've been even better since they fare well in most tiebreakers. Regardless App in first place is awesome to see. Hope we get an ESPN bracketology update in the next few days!

The Marshall game looks to be huge, App can go 3-1 and still slip to the #3 seed or lower with a loss against Marshall....

We weren't far off from an at large potential- kinda like JMU a couple years ago.
Losing to Elon and the other horrible team killed our hopes. If we won those and got to about 25+ wins there might have been a very small shot.

Losing to Elon and the other horrible team killed our hopes. If we won those and got to about 25+ wins there might have been a very small shot.

We're #167 in NET ratings (4th in the sun belt) and you usually need to be top 50 for an at-large bid

For this year, even with those couple of bad losses, we would not get an at-large bid. We did not play enough power teams to get a sniff at an at-large bid

Bottom line, what an amazing job by Coach Kerns this year. Finish strong and he has to be Sunbelt coach of the year. I beg our alumni and students to come out for the last two home games. This team deserves it. And will our athletic department please do something to heavily promote these two games!

The seemingly non stop FT rants and debates are hilarious. Can anyone point to a specific game (and use absolute statistical evidence) that we lost due to FT shooting? I seem to recall a long debate probably 2 years ago about the same thing. Yes absolutely all points matter but I like to see what the other team does with those misses. If we aren’t allowing many made buckets after missing the front end of a 1&1 the misses are negated. If we were buried deep in the standings but were a top 5 FT team I guess this aspect of the game would not come up. I’ll take winning and being in first. I tend to think that those days of the “gym rat” taking 100 FT’s after practice or late night in the empty gym are a relic.
