You are absolutely right!... But I can’t insult UAB, USA, GAST, etc. by mentioning them in the same conversation... Charlotte fans truly believed that Jerry Richardson and Hugh McCall would have bought them a national championship trophy before now, and still think the SEC is salivating for them... They have shown some sporadic signs of slight improvement, but just like today... they are what they are. They never paid their dues, and will forever pay in arrears...Tatedc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 7:50 pmCharlotte's fan base, based on my experience, is very unusual.
They are in the same boat as UAB, UTSA, South Alabama, Georgia State, etc. In that they are a large commuter school who invested in football and spent alot of money and lobbied to bypass the lower levels quickly to move immediately to FBS.
What makes them unique is they truly believe they should be in a bigger conference and that they are within striking distance of bigger programs such us as.
I mean no disrespect but they aren't close and it is outrageous to expect to be. They have had 1 winning season at 7-6. Ambition is great but they will forever be miserable because their route is a tough one. UCF is the only team that took this route and succeeded, and they are a much larger institution in a much better place. I like Charlotte and don't mind playing them, but their fans...it seems...do not understand that they will be in the same general place for the next 30 years, and they may never catch the App States and ECUs of the world. Its hard to make up 80+ years, but CUSA is a good place for them to grow.

And look at the combined records for those 7 opponents. If I recall like 3 teams won one game and perhaps another won 2Tatedc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 7:50 pmCharlotte's fan base, based on my experience, is very unusual.

Stink holds on. Came down to the last play of the game and whether or not ULM crossed the goal line. Took several minutes for the booth to review the play.

Welp, down we go. Another frustrating loss for UCF to Tulsa. I imagine this is the frustration you all have losing to the stink. Tulsa has had our number ever since our CUSA days.

Sorry! 24/7 has now dismissed the G5 from any possibility of reaching the CFP. You guys have worked hard to be in the mix, and now... we are now going back to the old way of declaring a champion ... by voting! They would VOTE Ohio St. into the CFP now, not even playing a game !!citroknight wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 11:28 pmWelp, down we go. Another frustrating loss for UCF to Tulsa. It’s frustrating that B level teams like Tulsa and Georgia Southern exist solely to be a pain in the a** to A level programs like UCF and App State.citroknight wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 11:28 pmWelp, down we go. Your loss to Marshall this year reminds me of our loss to Cincy last year. You hate to lose while you're trying to make noise but at least it was to a another good G5. But Tulsa and Georgia Southern?! Come on maaan
