KonKord Vs. Kannapolis

Unread post by asutrnr81 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 8:53 pm

It's Bell week. It is the first game of the season and is the Marine Corps Rivalry game of the week!

Go Wonders.

The youngest just posted this pre-season Vid. on Vimeo! Footballscoop picked it up and as a dad I am quite proud!

Good work, and you should be proud. Still, this game shouldn't be played in August.

And it would not be IF the NCHSAA would place teams in the classifications appropriately. Plus it would be nice if they actually KARED, about the schools....just a little bit.

The NCHSAA is good in so many ways but equally horrible in others. They have the second-largest war chest of any high school governing body in America and yet don't reimburse schools like they should. The classifications are too inflexible due to large changes in student bodies and only doing it once every four years. Funny enough, this is one of those four years as new changes are going into effect.

It could be worse. It could be the Virginia High School League, which is run by the big schools in Northern Virginia, the 757 and the small schools in Southwest. The others serve at the whims of schools in those areas.

I watched it and it's very good! I have a few good memories from student teaching there a long time ago. I liked the "heartbeat K" at the end, too!! :-)
We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

I'm a Wilkes Central grad but I live in Mooresville. Go Eagles but I'll be in the stands pulling for the Mooresville Blue Devils against the West Rowan whatever they are. One of the most underrated high school rivalries in NC

You just covered most of the schools in the commonwealth! ;)

It will be interesting to see how the new realignment plays out. It will take awhile to get used to this idea of mixed classification districts and the new conference format that puts my old school (Franklin County) in with teams from Chesterfield and Henrico.

One of the best coaches in the state. Know first hand what he did at previous school.

There is only one thing better than a freshly painted bell in black. A bell in black that has an old paint job. This 33-20 victory over the Little Wonders tonight, combined with last year's in November, and a victory found from the 1925 season, gives the Spiders three wins in the all-time series in less than 12 months. The Can'tamounts aren't even capable of that level of futility.

Nice win......too many turnovers, and too few tackles being made! Did not look like us in many regards!

Congrats!

Thanks. From what I saw on Radio Free Cabarrus, both teams have a lot of imprvement to make ahead of them, but I think that was partly a by-product of having to play such a big game in the first week of the season. I'm sure both teams will be pretty solid come November.

Now, let's go hunt us down some Grizzlies.
