Firing Fancher may have been the right call. But firing Fancher because a donor says "I'm paying for a tar heel to be the coach" is not the right call.
Is this hear say or documented quote.

Good question!
It is likely true. One of the posters on here had inside knowledge and said it was due to one of the wealthy Carolina Blue residents on Howards Knob.

Just what I was told. That's all.

Firing Fancher was the right call, he wasn’t going to get App over the hump. Great guy, average program builder.

And replaced by a UNC backed hire??? Are you serious or do you secretly or subconsciously have Carolina Blue blood?
Nothing is Saints post suggests he supported the new hire after Fancher, just that it was time for Fancher to go.

Firing Fancher was the right call.

Bringing Buzz back was a good call.

Hiring Capel was the disaster. All Cobb had to do when Buzz left was take the layup and promote McMahon (the guy who this thread is ostensibly about).

Thank you, just trying to give props to one of our own and discuss that 🤣

He has LSU at 10-1 with a game against #beatETSU before facing off against #10 Arkansas. SEC will be tough this year. If he can finish just above .500 in conference play, he should have over 20 wins and a chance for post season play.

He's really done well for himself. Started off a little uneven at Murray, and I think he needed to show that he didn't just get lucky finding a unicorn in Morant. But he kept it going after Ja, and it sounds like he's off to a good start at LSU.

You're right. When he said it was time for Fancher to go, I assumed he felt anyone was better than Fancher even a Blue blood hire. My apology.

That's true but it was told to me by one of the most respected members of this board not by the likes of you. Forgive the sarcasm..
