I thought I heard NPR say it was a short battle with leukemia. Either way, they played a bit of an interview he gave more recently and given his career he seemed like a great person that did not turn sour due to how his career turned after Batman.

Even though I watched a lot of the old batman, this is what crossed my mind as well. Seth Macfarlane is a genius and casting Adam West as himself on that show was hilarious. It will be interesting to see how they deal with it. RIP Mayor West.
