He had that voice issue that kept him from the network jobs, but he was a heck of a good analyst. I learned something whenever I watched games he was on.

Yeah, his voice was terribly raspy, but he always was a great analyst doing our games. I enjoyed him on the broadcasts

Re: RIP: Sam Wyche
You are correct. I believe he may have been calling the game where Armanti trucked that guy from GaSo in Statesboro, but could be wrong. Wikipedia says he was calling in 2007.proasu89 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 8:26 pmSam worked SoCon games for Fox Sports South.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 7:32 pmYep-he called the PBS SoCon games.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 7:25 pmDidn’t he used to be an announcer for some of our FCS games?

Re: RIP: Sam Wyche
Sam represented a lot of what I find to be good about sports , football of course but athletics in general.I had the opportunity to speak with him on occasion. Humble. Kind. Great sense of humor.( I may have played a little joke on him )That’s what I will remember.
