Summer Time Is Almost Here

It's about that time again, outdoor activities prior to App State Football. Although The South Branch is currently low, I believe by June the river should be up. Good thing the river was up for this group, or, they would have been dodging rocks all day. I have kayaked this section before, however, my friends and I usually put in further down stream. Anyway, get ready:

Sure doesn't feel like summer is around the corner in the High Country. Got the sweaters back out, lol.

The air conditioning system went out in my work van last week (part time/something to do/low key job). The compressor, blower motor, the whole nine yards went out. Picking it up from the shop later today. Anyway, I just looked at the weather for next week and it's not going to get over 70 degrees for the entire week, doesn't look like I'll need the A/C next week. But, in a few more weeks I will! Summer will get here sooner as opposed to later. And, when it does I'll be ready.

Man, with pretty much everything open again, I can't wait for the summer. After finishing last school year virtual, being cooped up most of the summer, and then dealing with the hell that was teaching during COVID this year, this may be the most highly anticipated summer of my life. That includes as a student and teacher.

that brings back some great memories.

One time, my buddy Bob Wallace checked out a canoe from the gym or somewhere. He had a jeep. We put the windshield down and stuck the thing under the roll bar. He had to lean out of the drivers seat to see where he was going, but we made it to the river, unloaded, took my car down to the drop off point, enjoyed a nice day with no cost except for the beer.
