Not particularly a golf fan except for admiring Arnold Palmer's career and our very own lefty, Sam Adams, however I do love it when a 50 year old golfer schools the young studs:https://www.yahoo.com/sports/phil-micke ... 56005.html

KIAWAH ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA - MAY 23: Phil Mickelson of the United States gives a thumbs up as he walks to the 18th green during the final round of the 2021 PGA Championship held at the Ocean Course of Kiawah Island Golf Resort on May 23, 2021 in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. In a career full of memorable moments, Phil Mickelson’s now signature one fittingly came with a wedge in his hand.

He’d arrived at the final round of the PGA Championship with a 1-stroke lead that no one thought would hold. Not with the major assassin Brooks Koepka walking alongside.

A rocky start (two bogeys in his first three holes) only reaffirmed the prevailing sentiment that at 50 years old, Mickelson contending at a major was a fun story that would end with a fizzle.

I didn't watch the tournament super closely, but it seemed like every time I looked, Phil had hit his ball into the water or on an alligator's tail or something else ridiculous... and then he would putt for par. lol

That's why he is called "Phil the thrill".

As an Augusta native, I loved Phil after he won the Masters and went to the Krispy Kreme on Washington Road with his green jacket on.

Sam Adams who played at App was a lefty and there was something about him being the first left hander to win a major (quad cities). Could be wrong though

The Quad Cities Open was a regular tour event. The first lefty to win a major, oddly enough, was not Phil. It was Mike Weir in the 2003 Masters.

I think Bob Charles won The British Open back in the 60's.

[Searches Wikipedia] You are correct. As a lefty golfer, myself, I can’t believe I didn’t know that.

Weir, I guess, might be the first natural lefty??? which puts him in the company of Bubba for natural lefty major winners.

Well crap. Weir is a natural righty, too.

What’s real? What isn’t? :(
