Here we go. The first full team endorsement drops. This is going to get crazy before its over. Urban teams will have a huge advantage like others have stated.

"... and I want a better product on the field, too,"

The fat lady has sung.

I don’t know that it will be urban teams but now money gets to play an even bigger role. Bama, UGA, and Clemson are anything but urban teams but they have plenty of cash. Could be very bad for competition.

Now one of the curious aspects of this deal has come out- the starting QB and the 3rd string punter both getting $500 a month? That’s gonna fly with those dudes? I read the article. It absolutely reeks of seedy. Schools have been crucified for a player receiving a meal yet this is allowed?

The telling comment he made was “ I want to see a better product on the field”. If we thought lobby money was bad in politics we are in for a rude awakening with this.

Great for the kids. However, this is going to create an uneven playing field over time. Not today. It will be interesting to see how things play out 5 to 10 years from now.

Just imagine if there was a traditional minor league system for basketball and football so any aspiring superstar could bypass college altogether and try his luck at 18 in a regular pay for play situation. Those kids who aspire to attend college for at least 4 years but also want to play a sport could go the traditional route. Just imagine major college football games being played by real college kids (kind of like many years ago right)? Granted the speed and athleticism would not be as good especially at the top schools but then again an App would be closer to an Alabama now. Would people want to see “watered down “ versions of the once traditional powerhouses? On the flip side how good would those football minor league games be? Sure you would have 18-22 year olds competing but you would also have probably 75% of the players who made a huge mistake all for the sake of a quick buck- which probably would be minimal for a crappy minor league. The same would probably go for basketball. No way in hell does the NCAA want its top schools close in rank with middling G5’s.

Yep. I agree. The ruling is supposed to be for the stars etc. But in reality, boosters etc can throw cash at generic players, backups etc and say "it's for their likeness"
