Wow I did not realize it had been that long since there had been post season play in DC - heck that is even before my time I did see the Old Senators play in Griffith Park back when I was a kid and they had some good teams but there were in the AL with the Yankees and not even my Tigers could unseat the Yanks - they had some good players before they went to Minnesota - Killebrew, Bob Allison, Jim Lemon, was it Mickey Vernon (?) who won the batting title ---

Indeed! Mickey Vernon - good ballplayer in the late 40's/early 50's. AL Batting Champ in '46 and '53...
