Not sure if you can change titles, but this is the Gold Cup.

I'm sure you knew that. I always appreciate your soccer acumen.

Cheers!

I went to the Cuba Guatamala game in Charlotte Wednesday night. We will have no problem with Cuba. The Mexico Trinidad/Tobago game was very entertaining. Attendance was 55k...

Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi! I can change titles (only in posts that I author); and I have. Thanks for the heads up. My mind was racin' ahead to '18 in Russia. Would like to see the USA win the "real cup" in front of Putin. Would love to see the look on his face as he awarded gold medals to Dempsey & Company in their Red, White and Blue. Unlikely to happen, but we can always dream.

I'd love think that by the time Russia 2018 comes the US will have developed enough competent strikers that they won't have rely on a 36 year old Dempsey to score every single goal for them lol.

As for the Gold Cup -- underrated event imo -- the tourney sets up great for us as Tinidad / Panama / Mexico / Costa Rica will all knock each other out and we won't have to face any of them until the final.

I hope we can get some goals from other people outside of Clint and Michael during Cuba and Haiti/Jamaica matches. I also hope we find some sort of consistency on defense.

Klinnsmann has a busload of young forwards and attacking mids waiting in the wings, but not many of them are ready for prime time. I thought Altidore was ready, but was proven wrong. In a couple of more seasons, perhaps a few of the young lions will grow up and step up on the big stage.

Made the trek to Baltimore again (went in 2013 as well) to watch the U.S. capture a 1/4 final win. U.S. in complete control under very hot conditions.
