ODU got issues to deal with

This is not athletically related but Old Dominion is a school that has been mentioned in the past as possible opponent for us. I think they have a bigger issue to deal with than their first opponent:

Not the first time guys have posted signs like this. They've been doing it for generations.

Ive seen more vulgar than that at other universities. Like Diesel said it happens at every university. Go to Morgantown, WV on move in day and be blown away with what you see and read.

"21 to drink, 18 to sleep over" and "Thanks for your daughters" are among the most cliché. Not sure why they're suspended.

Yeah this should be a non-story, I have a daughter and if we do our jobs as parents then she can make her own decision that this would be a place to never visit or associate with. College used to be a place that 18 year olds learned adult life for the first time, now it is like an extension of high school with extra babysitters everywhere.

Yeah, nothing to see here. How did we get to a place where words are considered injurous?

Oh good grief, is there anything that people are not offended by these days? I personally think it's funny and I can't believe they would suspend a fraternity for something as PG-13 as this.

I'm sorry, I'm not always PC...The 1st sheet was in poor taste but I really thought the other two were funny.

Nothing grinds my gears like Feminazi buzz words like "rape culture."

There is nothing on those signs to suggest that a potential sexual encounter with those frat stars wouldn't be consensual. Douchey for sure, though. Jezebel is a RAG.

So every girl who happens to find herself in a bad situation wasn't raised properly? - I, of course, don't know how old your daughter is, mine is 33 with a daughter of her own and not a day goes by without worry. She was raised properly and spent her 4 college years at APP - I worried every day and night she was there. She was raised properly, she's smart, she's tough, an outstanding athlete and if several college guys attacked her not much of that would matter - Sounds a lot like blaming the victim to me ---
Look, I think these signs are junior high level and don't bother me at all - we as fathers of daughters need to do more than just raise them properly because there are some really bad people out there ---

Just an FYI, but we actually play ODU this year.

As for the signs, yes they're juvenile, and yes they're kind of funny.

Greek life is really making a bad name for itself in the news lately. In my opinion, this is minimally offensive compared to other recent headlines like when fraternities were videotaped chanting "rape" or "rape that slut".

In an unrelated note, Gonzo, I would be convinced you are a cartoon character if I didn't know you in real life.

Sadly, with a lot of them, they make a bad name for themselves for the rest of their life by not being able to have their act together or ever grow up.

Well unfortunately Coach, there are a few of us who revert to our behaviors (when we get together and tailgate) we exhibited in the early 70's..except for the streaking.....not fast enough and not near as pretty.

Yeah except Greeks routinely have higher GPAs, get better jobs after graduating, as well has having higher income on average. You're referring to a few outliers.

Back to the topic at hand, it's not just ODU, App had a similar banner, though not as good as ODUs, on the house at the corner of Oak and Windy. Its like people never knew what was on the college-aged guys minds: SEX
