Yogi was a good manager, also. If I'm not mistaken he led the Mets to a World Series championship.

He was a gunner's mate on a ship off the coast of Normandy on D-Day, too

As an old-head I actually saw Yogi play in person - hated the "Yankees" because they always beat my Tigers but I loved the players, Yogi, Mickey, Moose, Richardson, Elston, etc., ---

Yogis' Mets lost the '73 World Series which were the last games played by the great Willie Mays. Gil Hodges managed the Miracle Mets of 1969, I was a nine-year old Orioles fan and remember that one all too well.
