Just eliminate both soccers and use the field something, anything else
I believe it's still used for local youth soccer and Appalachian FC

Exactly. It's not App property anyway.

Where would our mens' soccer team play? Is the project at the old Watauga site finished (for soccer and track) ????? Doesn't seem like it would work having to share the present womens' soccer field.
They shared a field before. Why couldn't they now?
Ask DG the AD why not. I've never met him but several on this board have.
I have several times. If we still had a mens team, they would be sharing the field with the womens team. I am not sure I understand what you are asking...

Supposedly there was to be a new soccer field and track being constructed at the site where the OLD Watauga High School was on 105 (Linville Rd). Anyway that was debated.

Spent too much money on the baseball stadium to cut the program. Baseball and some summer tournaments/Boone Bigfoot’s are the only teams to use the field so it makes sense to keep them. Ted Mack can still host WSOC App FC and other events.

I don't think there are many folks who want to cut baseball. I think it reflects the frustration of the last week.

Don't want to see it go but last winning season was 10 years ago - that's rough.

Winning isn't important. Just putting a team on the field is all that matters; or so I am told.

Isn't there an existing soccer complex off of 321 where the teams played? Did that get plowed under or something?

The teams played at Ted Mack. It's still there. The women still play there (I believe). Appalachian FC plays there. High Country Soccer Association uses it as well. When it was built, it was a partnership between HCSA and App.

Before the Mack, they played at State Farm. I think that is now being used for Field Hockey.

No it's not. That's one post from the town idiot who continues to ask stupid questions with the hope someone responds.

Back to soccer. I'd get rid of men's basketball and baseball to have men's soccer return (add in ice hockey too). Could turn the baseball field into a soccer pitch.

When people on here don't know where the soccer complex its a valid point. Would love to see soccer and hockey

Sorry he asks so many questions for your liking.

I can't think of any team sport that has been cut, then re-added, on a collegiate level outside of football. Anyone know of any?
