You stated you don't like arrogance and big programs using their "power", are your blinders on that tight.

Well you said I "liked Saban" - what's the relevance?

I think you're just messing with me now.

Saban and Alabama are just as bad as Harbough and Michigan in terms of arrogance.

There is a difference - while I don't like arrogance in general, there are some who get a pass - those who back it up ---
I like Coach K - can he be arrogant? - Yes --- Does he have 5 National Championships - Why, yes he does
I like Nick Saban - he also can be arrogant - He also has 5 National Championships

Don't believe Harbaugh has won any - at any level

Guess we live by different guidelines.

My take on this is simple - an a-hole, no matter his/her resume, is still an a-hole.

Enjoy making exceptions for those you like and use that same criteria to begrudge others.

Yeah I mean Harbaugh only turned a terrible
Stanford program into a national power, went 13-3 his first year in SF after 8 straight years of non-winning seasons, and turned around UM in one year. And SEC/NCAA making rule changes just to strong arm one man. No room for arrogance there!

Gee 10 - you do understand the difference between being a good coach and being a good coach who wins championships??? - I don't believe you will find where I have ever said Harbaugh wasn't a good coach

Well Saint, I guess we do - my best friend for 40 years has been described by many as an asshole - Yet, his resume says he is an orthopedic surgeon, not an asshole and still yet, he remains my best friend after 4 decades - I use my own guidelines to make decisions.
And if I "make exceptions for those I like", which I do, I guess I'm guilty of being human :o

You don't know either coach personally. Apples and oranges.

Your friend probably is an a-hole to many people, we all have friends that are, we may even be one to others. I'm sure my bluntness on here at times makes me one to some.

Anyway, you're letting personal feelings for one person cloud your judgment on this issue. That is unfortunately prevalent in debates such as these.

Making exceptions for those you like is something we all do, however not using the same criteria across various individuals or groups is being a hypocrite. I know I'm hypocritical about some things as well, hopefully you see your stance on this subject can be seen as such.

I think it arrogant on his part to assume that just because Alabama doesn't need the camps no one else does. Ask our coaches the value of the camps. I would hope your allegiance to App is greater than yours is to fellow West Virginian Nick Saban.

Let me get this straight --- Nick Saban is the devil and he alone killed these satellite camps? - Oops - according to the article Moose just posted .................. "The ACC, SEC, Pacific 12, Big 12, Mountain West and Sun Belt voted in favor of the ruling."

Still asking you Hapapp, Saint and Yosef10 where I ever said anything about supporting a process that harms APP football - You guys just want to stir the pot and if something IS NOT stated that you need to continue your accusations/arguments/smartassedcomments you just make it up or insinuate it. Why would you care if my allegiance is greater for a fellow West Virginian than for APP? What the hell difference would that make to you or anyone else?

Guys, let's take a breath here.

None of this has anything to do with how much Furman still sucks.

This is a relatively new idea, and for the most part makes sense. These things were nothing but huge anatomy measuring contests to see who could have the most camps, or have their spring practice in a tropical location. It brings some semblance of common sense back into it. Yes, college football is a big business but if you really want to sell recruits, sell them on your campus. Don't sell them on a week in Destin.

The SEC got this one right. Even if it does mean for the time being that App and a few more schools will have to refocus their recruiting into East Tennessee and the Piedmont of North Carolina.

No, they provided opportunities for many players who might otherwise go unnoticed or who didn't have the means to take trips here and there. So, I think this rule is a complete overreaction. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

I'm interested in what's good for App, not Alabama or Saban. Voting to prohibit the camps favors the interest of the Alabama's not App. That's the relevance of this issue.
