Young, Former QB, Former OC at FBS named Head Coach

...at Texas Tech!

Sorry. I had to do it. Raiderland is VERY excited and united behind the naming of Kliff Kingsbury (age 33) as Head Coach at his alma mater, after leaving and coaching "Johnny Heisman" at Texas A&M as the Offensive Coordinator.

If there was a negative rep button, I'd use it.

And Scott was not a "Former" OC and we're not FBS. Other than those clues it was very misleading :>}

Satterfield will be named the head coach tomorrow afternoon or early Friday morning.

Congrats Scott!

Thought of our situation as soon as Kingsbury was hired...and he's 6-7 years Satterfield's junior leading a BCS level program. May not work out, but it reminds me that we shouldn't panic when our school is going to hire an assistant with 14-15 years of experience, and 4 seasons as a coordinator (9, if you count his "by committee" OC job from '04-'08)

The Tech fans are going nuts because they have one of "their own" returning to lead the program back. Hopefully the same can happen at Appalachian. It would be nice to have both sides unified in a common goal.

It helps them that an outsider just bailed on them in a pretty crummy way.

Agreed. They all have someone to hate. Similar to the Gnats love of Monken after BVG (although Hatcher was in between).
