Looks like De'Andre Presley has been added to the Dolphins' practice squad.

Receiver Chris ‘7-Eleven’ Hogan named to Miami Dolphins’ practice squad
By Ben Volin
Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

“7-Eleven” is back open for business — for now, at least.

The Dolphins announced their eight-man practice squad Sunday night, and receiver Chris “7-Eleven” Hogan was one of two receivers signed, joining undrafted rookie Jeff Fuller, who played at Texas A&M.; Fuller and Hogan — a former lacrosse player who has been a sensation on the HBO series Hard Knocks, which has documented the Dolphins’ training camp — give Miami some depth at receiver, where the team is searching for young players to develop.

Fuller, at 6-feet-5, was the tallest receiver in training camp and has a familiarity with rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill, his former college teammate.

Seven of the eight practice squad players were in camp with the Dolphins.

In addition to Fuller and Hogan, the Dolphins signed offensive lineman Chandler Burden, offensive tackle Andrew McDonald, linebacker Josh Kaddu, safety Anderson Russell, linebacker Jonathan Freeny and cornerback De’Andre Presley.

The one new face is Presley, an undrafted rookie out of Appalachian State who was recently cut by the San Diego Chargers. He is a raw prospect as a cornerback, as he was the Mountaineers’ starting quarterback his last two seasons at App State but switched positions for the NFL because he stands only 5-10.

A practice squad player makes $5,700 per week and is not considered part of the active roster. Another team can sign a player off a practice squad at any time but must keep that player on its 53-man roster for at least two weeks.

Happy to hear I finally have one of our guys here in town. I don't think we've had an App in Atlanta since Jon Settle, have we?

The Falcons drafted Harold Alexandr in the third round of the 1993 draft.

Safety Cory Hall was a late draft pick by the Falcons a few years ago and spent some time on the practice squad. Don't remember the exact year.

I'm glad to see LeGree back on an NFL team. He has the talent to play professionally and he's earned the right.

Speaking of which, I saw Mark in Greenville for the ECU game two days ago. I was filling up my gas at a gas station just outside of Greenville, when I notice a pretty fancy Cadillac pulls into the spot next to me. Checked the license plate, it said "LEGREEDY". The second he stepped out, I was sure of it. Had on a pair of Chicago Bears athletic shorts. I was going to say Hi, or maybe ask for an autograph, but decided not to disturb him. He probably would have appreciated the recognition, though.

I was driving south on I-85 this week and found myself behind Legree. The first thing I noticed was the Caddy with the NC "LEGREEDY" tag. Pulled up next to him and waved. I hope he noticed my APP stickers or he probably thought I was some weirdo. He must have been on his way home from prectice, because it was about that time of day.

Practice squad makes $5700 a week? Thats not too shabby there. With there being 17 weeks in a regular season thats $96900 for the season (assuming they don't get paid anything during the offseason). Take out taxes and that runs about $72,000 I'd guess. I'm glad to see that the nfl has a decent pay for these guys who are trying to hang on for that one big break that may or may not come for them.
