Over on The Tar Pit there are more level-headed reasonable UNC posters than I would have guessed. But man, there’s a few saying that UNC gave us the game, if only they didn’t have any turnovers, they would have won. Most spoiled, delusional fan base ever, which is why I am ecstatic with our win. How sweet it is!

"It wasn't so much them as it was us. We just didn't execute": We were beaten because their players and game plan worked to nullify our execution.

"We didn't play well on Special Teams and we had turnovers": We were beat at one of three phases, at least, and they forced turnovers (which they did)

Make no mistake, it wasn't like UNC fumbled a snap or simply dropped the ball and App recovered it. All 3 turnovers by UNC were forced by the App State defense. Big difference between a giveaway and a takeaway. If they want to use the turnover excuse, and you like to argue, that's the most valid point I could think to make.

I kind of understand what they are saying if you analyze it in full. Basically, what they are saying but in a roundabout way, is that they suck and that is the reason that they lost. And I have a hard time disagreeing with part of that logic.

The thing is, in literally every close game the losing team can make those types of statements implying that they weren't "outplayed" but that a couple of key mistakes cost them the game, or failure some such observation. App fans (including me) do the same thing and it's often very true! That's part of the game though and it doesn't diminish the fact that the opponent won the game even one little bit.

If us FANS want to talk about that game, or any other game, then we should be allowed to do so without you nannying over us. If you don’t like UNC threads, then mark them read and move on.

If they players cannot focus on the game prep because of a message board, then they likely shouldn't be allowed to live without their parents/guardians.

If CCU is insulted by our fans being excited over beating an in state school that has ducked us for 79 years, then they should grow thicker skin.

If you truly believe that this thread, or any other regarding the UNC game, impacts preparation by the team and coaching staff, then you're giving yourself and us fans too much credit.

I'm going to go back to my life now and reconvene glossing over your posts. I suggest you do the same with posts and threads that you find useless.

This is a day I wish I was back in North Carolina. You all have fun with the whine and jeez crowd today.

Me too. I haven't found any Holes fans to talk about the game with here in VA. Though I had a good laugh about it with a NC State fan this morning.

My sister is an UNC grad and works as a nurse at the UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. The only talking I got out of her was very telling in my opinion. Her only comments were to complain about the traffic getting to and from work at the hospital because, apparently, a normal UNC football game doesn't usually generate much of a traffic problem for her Saturday commutes. There was too much black and gold blocking traffic in the morning, she said, and it wasn't cleared up enough by the time she was heading home in the evening.
