Re: Jerry Moore at UNCC football practice Today
It's just a game and it's not like Jerry is giving secrets to North Korea.....He owes us nothing. How he interfaces with the program in the future will be his choice. I hope he comes to terms with understand what had to be done and enjoys the adulation the App Nation wants to honor him with. Where ever he goes he is known as the Appalachian coach and that is a reflection on us.
And Charlotte facilities are awesome but no better than ours.

Re: Jerry Moore at UNCC football practice Today
I think it's awesome that the only argument people can come up with to retort my statements about the absurdity of railing on Coach Moore speaking to a, has yet to actually play a game, UNCC foootball team is that I am not a fan of Jason Capel. It is so apparent that since we left the mmb, this new forum sorta represents the "New" Appalachian State fan. We have some holdovers from the mmb, myself being one of them who can appreciate the foundation Coach Moore laid. I find it shocking that people would have anything bad to say about Coach Moore. He's not even our coach anymore and he pretty much gave his entire coaching career to Appalachian State. This has nothing to do with whether he should have been let go or not, but he helped mold us into a consistent winner and a powerhouse at the FCS level. We have a whole lot of bnadwagon jumpers on this board and we shall see if the support stays when we struggle for a time with the move up. Jerry Moore did not retire in disgrace. He did nothing but conduct himself as a professional and we can only be so lucky if Satterfield is able to carry on that tradition. But then again this is the same board that has spent the last 6 months lauding Jason Capel as the "try hard" winner of coaching. I can't get my head around the posters taking cheap shots at Jerry Moore are the same guys who so furiously defend the wait till next year Jason Capel, who incidently has not proven one thing yet. I feel like I am in some weird coaching parallel universe these days.

I heard they've invited him back to speak on Kick Off coverage philosophy next time, since APP lead the football world in that statistical category.TheMoody1 wrote:He is working with them on special teams and the Power-I.

We may have a lot of coaches in the future. We may have coaches that win more. I find it very hard to believe that we will ever be able to replace Jerry Moore the man. When I hear people cut the man it only shows me they don't know the man. So those that want to rant about the man you just go ahead and prove how little you know about the inside of the program. Let his past players laugh about how little you know. I do have one suggestion though. I would be real careful about telling them in person.

Just as Jerry's actions are being overblown, I feel that the claims of those taking "cheap shots" at Jerry are being overblown as well. I don't see anything too harsh in this thread.

Incorrect. While some of us, like myself, are pointing out the irony of your post, we also agree with the substance of it. For example:Seattleapp wrote:I think it's awesome that the only argument people can come up with to retort my statements about the absurdity of railing on Coach Moore speaking to a, has yet to actually play a game, UNCC foootball team is that I am not a fan of Jason Capel. Now, I know that doesn't jive with your little rant here, but it was said. You're more than welcome to continue your criticism of Capel and your criticism of anyone that has ever uttered one negative word about Coach Moore, but you should be aware that many of us find it to be ironic.ASUMountaineer wrote:I'm sure you feel the same way about Coach Capel as well. FTR, I agree with your post for the most part.
Lastly, save us the the sanctimonious attitude. It's an anonymous message board for people to post whatever they want. Accept that and deal with it. Of course, if you are so displeased with this "new" MMB, there is a simple solution to end your displeasure.

That's the thing, it's easy for people to get on here and bash coaches, administrators, etc. This is because they can do so anonymously, with no recourse. An example is SeattleApp's constant criticism and desired firing of Coach Capel. I'm guessing he won't have the opportunity to tell Coach Capel how he feels in person, due to geography, but I doubt he would even given the opportunity.bcoach wrote:We may have a lot of coaches in the future. I agree with your assessment on Coach Moore; I am proud that he coached at App State, I'm proud that he left a great legacy at App State, but I'm prouder that he was such a great man and representative of App State. I wish him nothing but the best.

Re: Jerry Moore at UNCC football practice Today
i had this girlfriend a few years back before mrs beerhatguy came along. when she graduated, she told me she wanted to travel out west and move somewhere out there. we had a great relationship and we enjoyed knockin boots together but she felt she needed a change and wanted to move forward without me. however, she wanted to date me up until the day she left. needless to say that she got pretty upset when i started dating another girl since i knew our time together was over. sound familiar? you got people on here loving the fact that boring, old, stale play calling coach is now no longer the coach but you don't want him knockin boots with anyone else...he's not allowed to move on just as some of you have moved on. the other day i was eating at wendy's and marveling at the pictures on the wall of the football team, coach, and the championship run of '05. there were coaches before moore who did wonders for app and there might be ones in the future but i have said it before...had it not been for the run coach, his staff and players made, we wouldn't be talking fbs...period! without his run we wouldn't be in an expanded stadium and yosef club wouldn't be so large. you can disagree but it seems pretty evident to me that before we start digging up the corpse and spitting on it, we should just remember the many accomplishments. in fact, a few of the people on this board wouldn't be on here either. so, be glad he's gone if thats your choice but you can't then be pissed he's trying to do or go whatever and wherever he pleases.
