And unlikely with no TOs to have gotten in position to kick the FG. Just too clever.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 4:00 pmBad clock management. Not even a safe throw, but a downfield one. They also snapped it with several seconds left on the play clock twice on that drive. Georgia should have started that last drive with 30-35 seconds left rather than 1:30. Assuming Cincy couldn’t just run for two yards and end the game.

So I’m watching Alabama ND. Speaking of same SEC teams getting selected. ND has been in 6 New Years bowls since 2000. Their record is 0-6 and have been out scored 144 points I thinkappdaze wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 3:43 pmThe arrogance in general of the way their programs act towards everyone else. I'm quite tired of them beating out more deserving teams for some of the better non cfp bowls just because they are sec. They've only had the best bowl record 3 times in the last 20 years yet they still are given better bowls.
Also this split then split again screen thing ( ACCN or ESPN) I don’t like.

Re: Cincinnati - Georgia
Notice Cincy rushed only 3 until UGA got into field goal range THEN starting applying pressure on QB. Once pressure applied they did not allow any more completions but it was too late .
I want Dale Jones to use that as a lesson for our D for future. You can’t sit back on good teams in crunch and think they won’t move it down field on you. That was also a bad coaching decision in Cincy side (in addition to throwing on 3rd).

Truly 4 of my least favorite football teams are playing. Notre Dame gets such a pass it's ridiculous. Year in and year out. No idea how a team that gets beat like they did still gets put in the "playoff" . I don't know who to pull for. Really don't want any of them to win1ASU78 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 5:30 pmSo I’m watching Alabama ND. Speaking of same SEC teams getting selected. ND has been in 6 New Years bowls since 2000. I too don't care about any of the 4 teams in the CFP subjective playoff. However, I have a slight preference for any except Notre Dame so that people will get tired of Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State winning it each year. Granted LSU won it last year but that's an outlier...the playoff needs to expand before college football loses relevance. An expanded playoff will lead to a more equitable distribution of top players than the current model which tends to concentrate them into 3 or 4 schools. The NIL will also potentially cause a redistribution of talent but that remains to be seen.Boonegoon wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 5:53 pmTruly 4 of my least favorite football teams are playing. Re: Cincinnati - Georgia
They should have let Cincinnati have a shot at Alabama. Couldn’t have been much worse than what Notre Dame did.

The argument to increase the playoffs to 8 (or more) is losing more traction every year. I did t think ND had a chance but who would have given Alabama a better game? Whoever would have been the 8 seed would get destroyed. The talent disparity is just too great. While I would love to see App reach this level in my lifetime it ain’t happening. I for one get pumped for every regular season game, the conference championship game when we are in it and any real bowl game (that crap we played this year was a joke). It’s a shame that the playoff or bust has consumed so many people.

Re: Cincinnati - Georgia
ND is a farce - every year all the experts talk about how great they are and they NEVER beat a really good team - EVER - Yes, they beat Clemson in Double OT with a freshman QB at home - of course, when it came to a neutral field with their QB it was a butt-kicking. If ND had to play a true home and home every year in the SEC they would never smell the playoffs ever again ---

Re: Cincinnati - Georgia
From what I've seen the playoff expansion isn't losing steam because there's controversy every year, just my opinion. The other argument to be made is that the current 4 team system is causing a concentration of top players at a few schools. If you had an expanded playoff to say 8 teams, you could have each P5 champion, a G5, and 2 other at-large. This would create a situation where you would have top talent distribution being spread around more than it is now...in theory at least. So the Alabama's and Clemson's of the wouldn't have a monopoly of top talent like they have now.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 6:40 pmThe argument to increase the playoffs to 8 (or more) is losing more traction every year. I don't believe it is losing steam either - I have heard "experts" say having the same teams every year is hurting college football (interest level in playoffs) -

Doesn't matter how many teams you put in the playoffs. 9 times out of 10 the final 2 will be Alabama and Clemson.

boonegoon: Some of you guys like Google so much, that i googled Notre Dame for their schedule and results this year but for some reason it just gave me 6 of their games in 2020. They won those 6 games by scores of 27-13, 42-26, 45-3, 52-0, 12-7, 31-13. i don't know what you mean by a "team that gets beat like that." (unless you are referencing only one particular game)

He was referencing a stat they put up during the game regarding ND results in their last 6 bowl games against P5 opponents - now 7 --- blown out in all 7

Re: Cincinnati - Georgia
Perhaps, but many "experts" think expanded playoffs might lead to more dispersion of top talent if there are other pathways to a national championship other than the big 2 or 3. As opposed to the current format which seems to be causing concentrations of top talent.Longrifle28 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 8:18 pmDoesn't matter how many teams you put in the playoffs. 9 times out of 10 the final 2 will be Alabama and Clemson.

Also in the first quarter, Ohio State giving Clemson all they can handle....

I had Texas A & M over the Irish , Oklahoma is better too. My opinion. Ohio State a bit of a surprise tonight at the half , the margin anyway. When do we start spring ball?
