Good for him. I see him stream WarZone on twitch from time to time and always try to tune in and interact with him.

Not sure what one more year at APP would have changed? - he wasn't going to get taller, or faster or significantly better

Re: Clifton Duck
He declared in ‘19. The 2020 draft leaned heavily on DB’s. I think he would have had a much better shot with another year under his belt, but that’s hindsight, and I don’t know his whole situation.

I do hope he'll come back to finish his degree. Loved watched that guy, he may be the first player my kids will remember once they get older.

Re: Clifton Duck
Dexter Jackson didn't get his degree until years later.
I remember being in the press box one game and Duck was recognized on the field, causing Deva Coulson to launch into a diatribe about how Duck made the worst decisions in his life, etc. It was embarrassing to witness.
Duck took a chance and it didn't work out. Then everything except the NFL shut down. The Arena League is gone. Hopefully he gets a shot in Canada.

If Dave Coulson said one thing, I pretty much immediately think the other. I’m only being a small bit sarcastic.

I'd suggest you practice what you preach! You don't know C.Duck's family situation, his heart, his dedication nor his future. You've never walked one step in his shoes.
If it happens to the Apps, it happens to me!

Re: Clifton Duck
Dexter Jackson also got an NFL contract. He may not have stayed in the league too long, but I bet he made enough money to finish paying for his school.T-Dog wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 6:12 pmDexter Jackson didn't get his degree until years later.

Dont get me wrong, i like Duck and thought he did good enough to atleast get on a practice squad, but I thought he decided last minute to leave early, and was behind on his scouting and getting his name out there, and as mentioned earlier, that was a pretty CB heavy year.

Re: Clifton Duck
Did you guys that are questioning Duck not getting his degree even read the article?
"He returned home to his parents’ house in Charlotte, N.C., and since then, Duck has been taking online classes at Appalachian State to complete his communications degree (he’s one semester short), working out, coaching at his old high school and working the night shift at CarMax."
The kid took a chance following his dream and it hasn't worked out for him...yet. I would never second guess someone that is actively pursuing his dreams. I hope he dominates the CFL. If you remember, it even took "The Great One" a few years to become a CFL star.

No one on the internet reads articles. They just blindly comment. It’s the way things work.JGthatsme86 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 4:11 pmDid you guys that are questioning Duck not getting his degree even read the article?
