Gotta say I’m not going to miss many of you on this board this off season. We’ve won 10 games and had 4 turnovers today and were in this track meet the whole time. Utilizing a pocket passer in a system that basically leans on a mobile qb. You’d think we were Bama with some of these bs takes. Maybe just maybe we weren’t as good this year as some thought. Maybe we actually over performed. I don’t know about that but I do know y’all don’t know either. But the incessant wining has made visiting this board so unenjoyable. Merry Christmas you filthy animals.
Why would we bring in a pocket passer for a system that relies on mobility? Either we brought in the wrong guy or didn’t run the best offense for his skill set.

Do ya’ll realize that if we didn’t get Brice to Boone, we were going my get a kid from a D2 school? Oh how this board would have imploded. Come to think of it, I think some of you like to be pissed off.

We had 558 yards of offense today but the offense was the problem?

I heard on the telecast today that Brice is coming back for a 6th year. I appreciate that he plays hard and gives it all he has. He has played 5 years and still holds on the ball too long, takes hits, and fumbles because of the hits. Like today!

We have had duel threat QBs since Armanti, until this year, and it showed. I really would like to find another duel threat QB from the portal.

Each loss was to a better QB. We need a better one! Time to move on!

I think we are settling for QBs. Heck, McCall begged to come to Boone. Great choice there! Merry Christmas to All!

It would look to be that we have some coaching issues on the defensive side of the ball.

I was disappointed that we brought Mark Spier on as an analyst. We need youth on coaching and fresh ideas from different perspectives.

Who was first on your list instead of Mark Spier, Highland?

Someone who has coached under different systems.

There is a bunch of chatter on this board about playing AppState football and hiring AppState guys. That is is exactly how Georgia Southern got where they are today; by trying to keep doing the same old thing over and over. "AppState Football" is letting a young coach talk an old coach searching for answers to go visit Rich Rod at WV and learn an innovative new offense. Getting the "old gang back together" never works in anything especially not a game that changes with new innovations and wrinkles annually.
Yeah we should definitely go away from the “App State” brand. Your Ga Southern comparison is hyperbole. We went 10-3 this year. We lost to two good schools to end the season. They doesn’t mean the program is a failure and needs to be blown up and rebuilt.

I didn't say it was a failure. You are attempting to entirely twist everything about my statements because I called you out for being a jerk regarding Brice in a new post that you started.

I did not intend to express anything other my desire to have diverse experiences. And I clearly didn't say anything about getting off brand other than the point out that the nostalgia that is repeatedly brought up here is something that began with being cutting edge.

ps - that is not correct use/definition of the word hyperbole

Congrats to our super seniors and seniors for a good season. Thanks for giving your all.

Hats off to WKU. That was heckuva offense with some great players. Zappe was awesome and their oc called a great game. Nobody stopped them all year. Nobody.

Lots of work for us to do to get ready for next year.

I hope Black Saturday is okay...

Not gonna lie, I was amped with the Brice pickup and thought much of his woes at Duke were the Oline. He just has a knack for missing 2-3 wide open throws per game. Combined with taking sacks at the worst time or turning the ball over too much. By no means is Brice to blame for us giving up 50+ points. I just don't think he is the put the team on your back and go win a game when you need him type QB. Do I expect us to always have an Armanti Edward's every year, of course not. But a ZT type at least had the leadership you wanna see from QB 1.
Have you ever watched (in person) the kind of hits he takes after he throws the ball? 10 times worse than the sacks. Yet he never ever hesitates to take a hit. He is made of steel.
Kid has guts for sure, but takes many hits due to a lack of game/pocket awareness and holds the ball too long. A+ for guts for sure. But Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have done well for themselves by figuring out a way NOT to take those hits.

He would not have made it through the year, go back and look at how many hits Brice has taken. AE would have taken twice that many. Look at how our backs stayed banged up this year.
Actually he would take half the hits or less.
TOTALLY agree with that!

No we need less turnovers, discipline, less bone headed coaching decisions and a defense. That game was embarrassing.

And the TOs today were 2 by the QB and one by People's. Untimely penalties have killed us at times as well!

Here is my point, and something we for some reason arent asking- Why did we hire an OC who wanted to use a system that leans on a mobile QB? It makes no sense. We had a legit NFL WR with Sutton. We had an incredible possession receiver in Henni. We had a stable of talented backs, yet we were relying on an aging style of offense? Is Ponce just stubborn or just limited in his offensive scope? It seems pretty shortsighted to not coach to your players vs coaching the way you are comfortable with.

And to add to another thing- why are we happy with mediocrity or stagnation? Do you think Bama would be happy with back to back years of losing to UGA and not winning the SEC? I'm not sorry for being upset with losing to ULL 3 straight, not winning our conference in back 2 back years, and losing to what SHOULD be an interior opponent from an inferior conference. Let's quit making excuses, awarding mediocrity, bringing up past successes and focus on wanting more from our program who built a name on consistency and breaking through barriers. Again, I'm not calling for Clark to be fired, but I wouldn't mind seeing him shake up this staff after what I feel to be a let down season.

There is no doubt that this team is full of first class guys. I'm hoping this post, or even the tweet from Molly wasnt just a novel attempt to soften the blow of what was an extremely embarrassing and disappointing end to what as a progressively disappointing season. It's OK to not be happy about a team, playing a competitive sport, that we donate money to, after they underperformed.

This is great to see, but has to be together with better football play on offense and defense.

Exactly! Agree Completely! This team should have had more success. We need more younger coaches. The talk a couple years ago was Jones wanted to coach a couple more years and retire. Go ahead, it's been a couple years.

We are settling! Go get some of these 4 and 5 stars in the portal, and tell some of these older players they have had their shot. Bo Nix or Casey Thompson are there. There is also alot of DBs and Safeties that have to be better than the ones that attempted to play today. Again, if we don't try to get some of these players we are settling.
