Because outside of message board posters who aren't objective and the few people that go to every game, that information isn't shared with us regular fans.
Football has the same issue.

Very true on all accounts. I know that I have mentioned the injuries to our primary starters on here. Too your point about objectivity, it was either glossed over or seen as an excuse.
They also play in a state where baseball is religion and they can subsidize scholarships with Hope Scholarships.
It’s the south. Baseball is important in every state.
Lol dude. And how many of those kids on any of those four teams, (UNC, Wake, ECU, and State) would actually pick App? Your point of rebuttal is three P5s and a school with a baseball budget of $2.7 million. Ok, seems like a fair fight because everyone plays the same game. You have your opinion and that’s fine. The difference between you and I is that you are only looking at two numbers to draw your conclusion. Wins and Losses. We have tried to provide you with several factors that contribute to the overall record of the baseball program and you just seem hell bent and determined to ignore the facts and circumstances.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 11:52 amIt’s the south. NC has 4 teams in the top 35. Georgia has 3. The state of NC is better at baseball.
Widen the lens to top 50:
NC has UNC, Wake, East Carolina, NC State (4)
Virginia has VA Tech, Virginia, Old Dominion, Liberty (4)
South Carolina has Coastal Carolina, Clemson, Wofford (3)
Georgia has Georgia Southern, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State (4)
Tennessee has Tennessee, Vanderbilt (2)
Alabama has Auburn (1)...Alabama #51
Add Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana and you're talking about half of the top 50 in the south east. Baseball is important everywhere. It's just not important in Boone.
The difference between you and I is I believe we can do better. You believe .385 is as good as it gets. But hey, Grady Davis, go ahead and write your emails to Doug saying "keep it up, we're doing fine". I don't want our program to suck. You seem to be content with it.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 12:38 pmLol dude. And how many of those kids on any of those four teams, (UNC, Wake, ECU, and State) would actually pick App? Georgia schools have more D1 talent year in and year out with fewer schools to spread the talent out. And they can subsidize the cost of attendance with HOPE scholarships. Many states across the SE also provide reciprocity for tuition which can influence the dispersal of talent amongst states that play baseball year round.
While I’m sure that our SOS attributed to our record, would you rather be around a .550 winning % with a RPI of 200?
Keep pounding that drum man. You have about as much chance of making it rain as you do making App Baseball a consistent power in the Sun Belt.
So just because I’m not shouting into the void of a message board, I am content? Got it. Not at all, I just took the time to ask the questions to the people that would know instead of venting on a message board what I can only see from my lense.APPdiesel wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 1:00 pmThe difference between you and I is I believe we can do better. I’ll put it this way. When our football coaches were prepping to play Michigan they watched film and said, “you know we have a real shot to beat these guys.” The following year, while prepping for LSU, same coaches said, “we have no shot in hell against these guys.” My point is that you, we, casual fans, don’t know of all the moving parts and it isn’t as easy as rolling the ball out there to get after it.
Maybe CKS sat with DG before the season and said that .385 is what he would expect under the current roster and schedule. Maybe it was higher until our starting pitching became a MASH unit. Your just being a fan and that is what this board is for so have at it. You are entitled to your opinion. However, your opinion is based on what you want to see with little tolerance to the acceptance of information outside your optics. Have a nice day.
